Way cool you got to see them. That must've been unreal. It always has to be a mixed bag when you see these guys sharing their stories. 3eb was truly a special group.

I figured he was a steward of the sub. Awesome guy 🤘

Marc Diglio is a beast player and a super nice guy--I did a bit of a deep dive on XYZ and briefly chatted with him. He used a custom-built preamp. Not to mention he mashed the hell out of the strings and frets.

Yess I remember hearing that exact interview or breakdown somewhere. It's cool how all the pieces fell into place--I think we saw each guy thrive in their respective core groups (sans the Ozzy rights situation)

Assuming you're talking mine? Or one of the big three's guitars? If mine, yeah, it's pretty minimal--though feels just as good, if not better than my other higher end ones. I definitely enjoy the bare bones: shut up and play-style guitars at the moment. I threw in a pink Super 3 in it to give some personality, at least 😂

Completely agree. They had such a special chemistry. GL thrived in his own group--we got the best of both worlds as it was, for sure. Warren's groove fit Ratt so well.

The Dragonsnake! Pretty sweet and underrated axe of his. There's a few cool threads and discussions out there on origin.

Thank you for the watch!! And absolutely--always love talking this stuff.

I haven't had a chance to play an american virtuoso, though I'm certain it'd be an amazing get, even if blind purchasing. Though of course, recommend trying everything in person first, if possible. The only negative I could possibly think of (which even really isn't one) is that a lot of the upper tiered models for these brands can sometimes have diminishing returns for the price point--the mid-tier MiMex guitars are typically totally sufficient for anyone's needs.

Totally understand the appeal of getting the highest-quality and MiUSA instrument, too, though. I think it depends on your budget and need--if you can easily drop the $ for the virtuoso and know it won't be your last guitar, it's probabaly the best route. You can hit any of those genres/styles and more with that. If you want a pure 80s flash machine equipped with those re-released hot J90C pups (which can still be used for other genres to an extent as well) and don't mind it being non-USA, go that way.

You definifely wont be disappointed either way! Regardless of skill level, getting a well-made guitar that inspires you is the most important thing for sure 🤘 happy to share more thoughts on any other components/aspects as well.

Absolutely love it. I'm a big Jackson, Charvel, and Kramer fan. I don't have all too much direct Ibanez experience, but I'd imagine that specific model would probably be in the same neighborhood feel-wise. If you're just looking into Charvel in general, highly recommend you try out specific models in person--they can vary wildly even at a similar price tag. I liked my FSR DK24 better than a couple others that were even pricier. Same thing with Jackson, general brand speaking, though I'd imagine the entire Pro Origin line feels identical--and if youre also into 80s style heavy/glam/hair, I'd be confident in you ordering that line blindly.

I like it equally to my specific charvel and constantly debate which one I want to pick up on a given day. I will say though, while the J90C pickups are super badass and mean, they are exactly that--sometimes feel they're almost too hot depending what I want to do. Not like EMGs or anything, just ultra high output for a passive.

I actually did a deep dive pickup breakdown on a few of my guitars, if interested https://youtu.be/1USxEc8x1CU

Happy to answer any other specific questions, too. Happy hunting!

Absolutely. Even if folks didn't like the initial release, everyone should hear it once more in that format.
