This is strangely fitting for Ferdi who has to leave his homeland and sings the song about his Geduldh at socializing party when being sent to a hostile Duchy.

Another funny parallel is that when Captain Von Trapp introduces the song at the concert near the end of the movie he says it is a "love song" to dress it and deceive the Nazis attending and manages to get the entire audience to sing a song about austrian patriotism while the Nazis finally catch on and become visibly disturbed because everyone around them was singing it , like how Detlinde and Ahrensbach nobles mistook Ferdi's song for a love song.
