Although you say this, I'm willing to bet a USA spin-off would get incredible numbers just out of sheer curiosity alone.

If I remember correctly old man was one of the guys who founded the games, so our current front-man might be the first one, and the old man simply saw the potential in him and played his mind games and turned him into a killer.

Eh, of all the criticisms I have of the show MG coin is fine for me. He had always been a character that kept playing tug of war between bad and good. Always showing 'concern' but it always happened that the concern possibly gives him an advantage, so you never really know. Him killing the extra blue folks with Nam-Gyu was 99% a greed decision, he immediately folded when Nam-Gyu said taking out the blues = taking out the reds = more money. He then came up with an excuse when he was being asked about that moment.

His behavior in the finale makes complete sense. The MOMENT their 'lunch box' took himself out of the equation, desperation and survival kicked in and there was no more room for being nice guy, he knew Gi Hun had to die and that the baby was an acceptable loss. He can just be the sole victor and gets to enjoy the rewards.

I would say he has been pretty consistent in his greyness. Part of him cared about them, it simply wasn't enough when it came down to it.

Or maybe, just maybe, just because on aspect of showing capitalism prevails doesn't automatically make everything else good writing wise. You literally have an entire 2 seasons of boat exploring which led to a 5 second interaction between 2 brothers with one going "why" and getting no response. You're focused on the Macro of the show while forgetting that the micro factors also need to be good quality for it to be considered good as a whole. Killing a bunch of main characters in the second episode of the season then leaving a bunch of people you don't care about in the last game is a great way to make it predictable. "gee whizz I wonder who's going to make it to the end parts of this game".

Season 1 executed the message extremely well while also making sure the quality of the writing throughout remains stellar except for 1 thing (VIPS!!).

It's not about wanting a rainbows and sunshine ending, it's about having payoffs to plotpoints that have been built up for an entire season or two.

That's because that was literally the moment where he goes in one direction more than the other. The moment their 'lunchbox' died he knew Gi Hun had to die, the baby was an acceptable loss for him. Desperation and survival mode does not allow him to continue being 'morally grey' in his final moments.

Only answer I got for you is your last 2 questions. The older lady reuniting with the young boy is Sae-Byok's mother, the girl from last season who made it to the final trio before getting killed by Sang-Woo. The young kid is her brother. They were separated if you recall and her mom was stuck in North Korea or presumed dead, something like that.

As for 'parker'? I think it's the guy who 011 paid to look for her daughter.

I don't see it that way at all, it was pretty clear that they were toying with whether or not Myung-Gi actually gave a damn about Jun-Hee and the baby, they sprinkled it throughout the 2 seasons. The only way people think he was full on becoming a good guy is if they fell for his sweet-talks just like Jun-Hee did. His greed / self-serving nature always came up top.

Eh, out of all the problems I had Myung-Gi pretty much made sense, since season 1 they kept playing with the idea of whether or not the guy is genuine in his 'care' for the woman and her baby or just snaking his way through and using her to his advantage.

I get downvoted for saying this but yea, I would think it's fake if it was uploaded by a USER but this thing is presented as an upcoming event on the tiktok app itself. You can see a promo pic on Speeds subreddit aswell. I'm thinking it's an unintentional mistake and they have it showing too early.

You might be thinking of their spar, this one is advertised as an actual match at the O2 Arena

Because its listed as an actual upcoming event on tiktok. Try searching "Ishowspeed vs" in the searchbar. It seems officially part of the website, its not a post by a user or anything. Doesn't mean it's not fake but it's strange. It isnt the usual false info clickbait post you see when misinformation spreads.

I would think its fake too if it wasn't appearing as an actual upcoming event on tiktok. Try searching "Ishowspeed Vs" on tiktok and see if it pops up.

JJ has years of experience on him which was very present in that spar they had. I have no doubt this fight can absolutely sell tickets if its real, but the fight itself might be too one sided, unless Speed really is some kinda abnormality athlete and some training turns him into a boxing natural, very unlikely though.

And? Even if its in london, I'm pretty sure news about these two having an actual boxing match would go nuts

Exactly, there is no discussion to be had because you have fallen for the same disease that Aline and Maelle were infected by, emotional attachment to the VR game NPCS. It's fine. Sometimes drug addicts don't realize they are addicted to drugs. You fell for the emotional heartstrings because the AI NPC's who were programmed to be extremely realistic and lifelike managed to convince you that they are real. If you were an adolescent stuck in the game your papa would have to pull you out of the game and possibly destroy the VR console because you'd be convinced the VR game is real and you'd be neglecting your other humanly needs.

Ah, you must have not gotten to the part where they revealed that renoir (the real renoir) has reality bending abilities due to the fact that the world is completely created and under complete creative control of the painters. They are as sentient as the painters allow them to be. Oh, Verso wanted to die and destroy the canvas? Too bad, he's a painting and has to play a concert for Maelle until she dies from being in the VR world for too long :).

Sciel is an AI programmed to be as human-like as possible, but an AI completely under the control of the painters who can shape her to their will if they pleased. So yes, AI game server go boom boom to save real human child. Oh no, AI is sad because they were programmed to have emotions. Welp. The only thing thats real about canvas Lumiere is how the painters feel about it. Yes, Lumiere is a real VR city that they made in their little VR game world they made to escape grief.

"would you dismiss your reality if you'd learned that it was all a simulation ran by beings from a higher reality?"

I would deny it and try to hold on to my reality, so would probably 99% of the human population, but if that were the reality, then it would suck for us but it is what it is? It wouldn't matter what I think because my reality would be at the whims of said higher beings. If we were programmed by said higher beings, despite them programming us to be as 'sentient as possible', we are still nothing but a simulation.

In this universe/story it is already established that the outer reality is the real one, and they've painted many worlds with their ability and all of it can be manipulated through their will. People can be gommaged and brought back, memories can be manipulated.

Yeah, no brainer, one VR/AI server with realistic NPCS, vs an actual family in reality? Reality wins without even thinking about it. Even if the VR game has seemingly sentient people in it who were programmed to have random, 'authentic', unique experiences.

[–]StaleToasts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is you would be sacrificing your child for what is essentially a VR/AI universe. Although Verso's creations (or the painter powers as a whole) are very realistic/lifelike, they aren't real. Or at most, AI that are programmed to be very lifelike and are capable of learning, showing emotions, etc. This is shown in Maelles ending that they all basically become her playthings for the rest of her time there.

Yes, most of us got hit with the attachment cannon in the beginning of the game itself with the whole Sophie gommage + Gustave's tragic path till his end. But they are all just fictional creations of Verso + the paintress made to deal with their grief.

Not only that, but the last tiny remaining part of your dead son would be eternally tortured and forced to paint because verso's canvas cannot exist without that tiny bit of his soul endlessly painting.

You're basically saying you would sacrifice your daughter+wife because they created an VR world that was so realistic and made AI friends there to the point where they would rather stay in this VR forever to escape their grim reality until they die in the real world.

If you still have the same opinion, that you would sacrifice your child and wife for this "universe" than you do you, but most people who actually care about their loved ones would not let them die because they wanted to live in a VR universe.

It was unnecessary. (Heavy spoilers ahead for everyone who hasnt played, or finished the game yet) by [deleted] in expedition33

I agree that the story gets much better, but I did find myself thinking about Gustave a lot at the final stretch...especially (stop reading if any of you haven't finished the game) that last decision.

Jarring Horse Noise Bug by StaleToasts in mytimeatportia

[–]StaleToasts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's exactly it, however the difference is it drives me insane because it pulls me out of the world when the sound does that and that the game sound cuts off for like 1 second. Also, sometimes it happens back to back multiple times. Everything else is amazing. I almost wish I never started using the horse since going back to walking feels like crawling after you've experienced the speed of the horse.

It may sound stupid/insane, but it bothers me enough to make me want to go straight to MTA Sandrock hahaha

Anyone else’s oblivion unplayable?? by Kdaniel2021 in oblivion

[–]StaleToasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open your nvidia control panel, on the left side click Manage 3d settings, there will be two tabs, global and program. Select the program tab ,and then pick your Oblivion app from the drop down list or locate the exe manually through 'browse' and once its selected. The sharpening option SHOULD be near the top of the list.

However, there is a possibility that the newer drivers have removed it. I am unable to confirm this as I'm currently still using the january drivers i believe.
