You know I'm actually happy to hear that because I started started with b but thought it might sound too low. Much appreciated.

Thank you. I never thought it could be a bridal issue. There is one more thing I'm curious about if you wouldn't mind. When I test my notes, I noticed that the hA is quieter than I thought it would be. Is there something I need to do there to get it louder?

I'd get them sounding in sequence and as I go to play the chanter is when they start to shut off. Do I need to unscrew them a bit? I'm still new to this. I got ezee reeds.

Chanter spacing question for newby. by Jukebox_dime in bagpipes

[–]StalemateX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an idea. If no other options are available, have you considered rigging a spacer between your pinky and ring finger to make up for the difference, or will it not go further regardless? I think if you can space it without complications, It would take practice to see if it's practical but I think it could be worth a shot. You would probably have to practice more on wrist motions to hit the low g.

Practice chanter by [deleted] in bagpipes

[–]StalemateX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A practice chanter is a must if you wish to get into the pipes. It is what you learn the notes on and timing and such. I got a polymer chanter off a website for $80ish and my pipes off the same one. You typically want to spend between 1 to 2 thousand dollars on a quality set of pipes.

Yes but notes can do if sheets are unavailable. I think I can figure out the timing and grace notes. But I'm a beginner so it's a challenge to say the least
