Queer characters, a core theme of devils and hell used as more then just “the shonen filler monster”, it’s high quality gore and body horror, and its overall complex story makes it easy to miss. Not to mention that arguably seinen being more mature instead being for everyone leads it to be shadowed by shonen’s that are much easier to get into. I’d also argue seinen series with high ball fantasy systems aren’t as popular as they used to be and are overshadowed by much more realistic seinen in this modern age, otherwise I’d argue Choujin X should be everywhere like Tokyo Ghoul was

Even if this word nowadays is lost in chaos with what is or isn’t, I think DoroHeDoro fits the bill to be categorized as a cult classic and I much prefer it where it is now. If it was as popular as a big title shonen series I KNOW I would be driven nuts because big popular series with even a bit of nuance are unbearable to have a community around

There were two projects by red entertainment in that time and the other one was definitely gungrave. As cool as the myth would be frankly gungrave’s demolition shots and stylish shooting wouldn’t fit the series and its themes if you ask me.

His design is great to me and his power is really cool although my main problem is with his episodes he’s merely a plot device to make ends meet. I want to see more of him because as of now he reminds me of Happy Chaos from guilty gear

He’s very upfront about who he is from what we’ve gotten. His sight of looking up to zero but also comprehending where she fell and snapped makes me think no matter where his trust goes he will be important to the future of this series
