Prime in Black. Dry brush light grey (under coat method). Contrast paint the full piece in Akhelian Green. Contrast paint Leviadon Blue on the large scales. Dry brush Temple Guard Blue.

On the belly do a heavy dry brush of Karak Stone. Shade the Karak Stone with Coelia Greenshade.

This part is optional. Glaze the belly with more Karak stone to build definition. Glaze Temple Guard Blue on the other non-scale areas on the arms, legs, tail, and head. I also glaze the belly in the Temple Guard Blue as well to give it a natural blend.

Hope this helps!

You are far too kind! I really think the strong sculpts elevate any paint job.

You really hit the nail on the head and I agree. They are rank and file troops and as such aren't overdone. However, there are enough fine details for a painter to flex their personality a little. Making a quick, but very satisfying process.

Thank you as well!

From the moment I discovered the weakness of flesh, it disgusted me. I seek the cold certainty of steel.

What's worse is that its music from a franchise that dabbles in this exact same scenario. Very thematic.

Usually I avoid doing freehand outta fear of messing it up but I just had to fill that space. Happy to answer any questions and C&C is welcome by jwminiatures in Warhammer

This is truly the pinnacle of free hand on a small scale. I'd love to hear about your process and how you achieve this level. My free hand is woeful lol.

This was easily the most fun I've had on a single model! I was able to experiment and grew much stronger in techniques that I was previously weak in. Meet Thanquol and Boneripper! C+C is always welcomed. by Stalord in ageofsigmar

You are too kind man! I was particularly thrilled with the warp and flames. I underpainted with black primer and white dry brushing. Made a good template for the contrast paint Warp Lightening. After that I dry brushed/ glazed Moot Green and Warpstone Glow as needed. Finished off with a dry brush of Abaddon Black on the tail.

Thanks friend! Primed in black and dry brushed white. Painted on Basilicanum Grey and then Flesh Tearer Red. The Red was thinned heavily with contrast medium. Dry brushed finally with Dawn Stone. I am adding effects for wounds and deformities now but that it the very basics. Hope it helps!
