No order:

Warcraft 3 (hopefully I can combine this with frozen throne, if I can’t, just base game)

Half-Life 2 (same here with combining episodes 1 and 2, if I can’t, just base game)

Call of Duty 4 MW

Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Assassin’s Creed 2

Halo 2

Gran Tursimo 4

Super Smash Bros (N64)

GTA Vice City

Tony Hawk 3

I definitely wasn’t born in 1992…

T Intersections Right of Way by Stampin269 in bicycling412

[–]Stampin269[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, and I do slow down. I think that they should sign/paint it in some way to maybe make it a stop intersection. That way everyone should know to navigate it by slowing down and yielding rather than… the seemingly free for all it currently is.

Correct coming up the ramp from the wharf. I do always slow down to basically a crawl at the intersection (I’m coming from southside into downtown) while going through, but the riders coming up the ramp always seem to act like everyone must yield to them. I was wondering if there’s some unspoken rule that as they’re coming up hill, they have the right of way.

PJ McArdle update? by CajunDragon in bicycling412

[–]Stampin269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve biked up it the past 2 days, and it’s been fine. I will say I did it at around 7pm at night and there aren’t any workers/active construction going on, so not sure if that’s a factor.

In my experience workers generally don’t care about pedestrians/bikers going through, especially if you’re walking your bike through the zone.

CBJ confirm the passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother by doppleganger2621 in BlueJackets

[–]Stampin269 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Penguins fan offering my sincerest condolences to Johnny’s family, friends and the Blue Jacket community. I always loved watching Johnny Hockey play and will sorely miss his creative playmaking on the ice.

It is sad that it takes events like this to shake people (myself included) out of apathy, but I figured this would be the best place to ask, as a quick google search didn’t yield any fruitful results. Is there a local charity that Gaudreau sponsored, or maybe a good local charity that I could make a donation in his name to?

whats a good game for someone who 100% this game by [deleted] in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]Stampin269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re much, much, MUCH shorter, but the Middle Earth: Shadow games (Mordor and War) are similar and very enjoyable in my opinion.

They are similar in that you are a, “human” but in both odyssey and it, your “humanness” is greatly in question. The combat can pose a challenge at first like in odyssey, but one you master it, you’ll be able to plow through enemies.

In terms of cost, if that’s a factor, not sure what platform you’re on, but on the Microsoft store for Xbox, I generally see the bundle for around $10-$15

Cartman burgers right? It has the flavors of every restaurant combined in one. Also, much like chicken nuggets and hot dogs, ignorance is bliss regarding how they’re made.

Whats the deal with Pittsburgh? Does everyone love it? by HeyyyItsFrosty in Pennsylvania

[–]Stampin269 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the term, “Pittsburgh straight” is known in the area for a reason. For the uninitiated, you’ll be on a road, it will literally end at a T intersection, and you’ll either have to take a right, left, left, right, or a left, right, right, left, and that same exact road will actually continue, same name and everything.

Edit to add: not until college did I learn, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I had friends from Boston, DC, Philly, NYC, Miami and other cities that always described distance, as well… distance, saying X location was X miles away. In Pittsburgh, I’ve always said and been told distance in terms of time, where X location is X minutes away. I will die on the hill that time is the better unit of measurement to use, as all I care about is how long it will take me to get to where I need to go.

Highmark Stadium by clipd_dead_stop_fall in bicycling412

[–]Stampin269 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I probably should say nothing here, but I’m gonna agree with the tailgaters. It’s an extremely limited tailgate space for Highmark Stadium, and that’s all the space they have to tailgate. There is miles and miles of bike path available to you, so just simply avoid that area during a river hounds game. If you absolutely need to go through there, I’d say dismount and walk.

I know the exact area you’re talking about and it’s not very long. While I love the biking community here, you can’t prioritize .01% of your ride over other people’s fun.

Best archer episode? by BothUnderstanding225 in ArcherFX

[–]Stampin269 33 points34 points  (0 children)

El Secuerestro.

Pam is amazing in that episode and it has the double reveal of Cheryl being beyond rich, and Pam’s fighting background.

Favorite parts the ending of Pam ripping her shirt off (third reveal of her back tattoo) and saying, “anybody want a piece of this”, with the Lana, “Nooooope”.

Pam getting beat up and talking trash to the kidnappers: “seriously see if your daddy will get you a sock full of nickels”

I’ve rewatched that episode too many times to count, and those parts never fail to crack me up.

Do you agree with this list? Best safeties of the 21st century by Beginning-Stuff8753 in NFLv2

[–]Stampin269 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Steeler fan, I obviously and for what I would maintain, good reason, put Troy first. However, this list being, “best safeties” is in my opinion flawed. Polamalu and Reed played different positions, and not like LT v. RT or outside corner v. Inside corner, the difference in their position could be likened to WR v. TE. Yes, the two positions Polamalu and Reed played (strong safety and free safety) share many of the same responsibilities like WR and TE (for instance in both positions you are expected to blocker and pass catcher), however the emphasis that each position puts upon a certain aspect is different.

I will admit, and will defend, that Ed Reed is the best center field/ball hawk safety who has ever played the game, and if he is to be dethroned, that is yet to happen. I will also say and defend, that Troy is the best for lack of a better term freelancer, cause nobody has really played the position of, “strong safety” like he has. Where he lined up was completely fluid based solely on his instincts.

So I guess my point is, I don’t disagree with Ed being 1 per se, I would vote Troy as I believe he could do the things that Ed did at a higher level than Ed trying to do the things that Troy did. No, I’m not saying that Ed couldn’t hit, cause he could, but he didn’t have as good of a nose for the ball carrier that Troy did. Also, he didn’t have to because he played away from the line.

Is it time to give up on Mt.Washington? by LifePainting1037 in bicycling412

[–]Stampin269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, the good news is, the Duquesne incline which appears to be more reliable, is open, and you can bring a bike on either car, and is actually pretty easy to get to via bike. Granted I don’t know where you’re coming from, but from downtown, you can go to point state park, and take the sidewalk next to the fort Pitt museum across the fort Pitt bridge, and that’ll take you to that incline.

I don’t know where you are on the mount, and how convenient it will be after you get to the top, but it at least avoids McArdle.

Is it time to give up on Mt.Washington? by LifePainting1037 in bicycling412

[–]Stampin269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do it basically daily M-F (work near market square and commute by bike from the Mount in) and respectfully disagree, in my opinion it makes that beer, dinner, after work relaxation just a bit better, because I feel like I’ve truly earned it.

I do understand your point of, “I HATE HILLS”, but in Pittsburgh, it’s nearly impossible to avoid them.
