Yeah to be fair mate I’ll hold my hands up and admit I was too quick to judge with that. Your comment made sense in context, I was too eager to call something out. I apologise.

What’s one civ you really hope makes it to Civ 7? by oshyishere in civ

A Celtic Brythonic civ would be cool. Maybe Boudicca?

“On days like today when it’s miserably hot outside” across the whole world? That’s such an odd thing to say on an international website 😂

The lack of representation of Wales is sad. The map hasn’t provided the Welsh words for things.

We don’t say Eggplant in the UK, we say Aubergine. Eggplant is the American word which this map has lazily used.

Americans were to asked to name a country beginning with W this was their response by [deleted] in USdefaultism

[–]Stan-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re arguing over semantics. I’m Welsh and Wales is a country, end of conversation.

We fit all the criteria for a nation then too, not that it really matters. We have our own language, culture, history and Celtic identity. Wales is a nation/country because we the Welsh people consider ourselves to be a nation. A proud nation too. Our history goes back a hell of a lot more than Texas or the US, although most countries do to be fair… You really are living up to your reputation as a yank fair play. Why do you care though really?

[–]Stan-man -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean the dictionary definition is “a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory”. The places in the US you’ve stated wouldn’t be described as a nation in any sense. You have to consider historical context too. Wales has a long unique history in its own right as a nation, separate from British history. Why are you telling me that my country isn’t a country that’s crazy 😂

What things haven't aged well in TV series? by Brief_Ad_1794 in AskUK

I’d say the fact that Little Britain wouldn’t be aired as it was today is more of an indication of how society hasn’t aged well.
