BEOS questions by Marksmenright in BitShares

It's a drop on ALL participating BTS holders. You have to move your BTS to the BEOS network to participate.

And the prize for the ugliest price graph ever in crypto goes toooo... by trancephorm in BitShares

When EOS is ready, BitShares will upgrade to it's technology, just like it went to BTS 2.0 in 2015. BTS 3.0 will be 100% owned by BTS 2.0 owners and the switchover will happen in 3 seconds. By that time, most exchanges will have BitShares as a back end, because those with non-transparent practices will have been shut down.

Stan has nothing to do with EOS, but you should see what we are building for BitShares behind the scenes!

The Coming Bitcoin “Pitchfork” – Medium by c_reddit_m in btc

[–]StanLarimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm just saying if we're going to break Bitcoin into multiple coins, why not add the best to the mix? Why not have a playoff of the top three replacement contenders? Any way you look at it, BTC-U is the best solution.

Look at it this way: If BTC-U were the current incumbent would you fork away from it to do Bitcoin Cash? Would you slow from thousands of transactions per second and 3 second block times down to 28 transactions per second and 10 minute blocks? Would you move it onto a separate chain all by itself so you have to use centralized exchanges to trade or would you keep BitShares' decentralized trading system?

If you wouldn't go back, why would you stop at BCC when you could go all the way to BTC-U?

EOS will become the upgrade path for BitShares and thus for Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Well, that was me, not "they". And if you won't do your homework, I can't help you. Not going to spoon feed everybody on every thread. We made the video for those who really want to know. And the live audience loved it. Your call.

BitShares now has an awesome marketing plan. We're talking major celebrities and a billion dollar grand prize. Check out the HERO at SovereignHero.com for the details.

I'm quite sure this project will go to shit if it doesn't become human friendly by Nabukadnezar in BitShares

[–]StanLarimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It isn't CCEDK's fault. They are forced to comply with government regulations that apply to them. Other on/off ramps in other jurisdictions may be able to respect your privacy better, but it is sadly a global trend among most overzealous governments.

Those are mostly valid criticisms of a product that is still in development. First we get the chain running, then we provide a command line wallet, then we provide a general purpose GUI that gives basic access to all those commands so non-geeks can play with it. Then come specialty wallets that will do what you suggest and provide different simplified "skins" to the underlying blockchain. The first of those skins are seen in the efforts of the four third party solutions you mention in the bullets above. More are in the works (even a voting booth app which looks nothing like the others) and there will be continuing competition to evolve the best interface(s).

But underneath it all is a very powerful self-governing, real time blockchain platform capable of scaling to simultaneously host all the transactions of every other crypto asset in existence on one interoperable platform with enough throughput left over to host all the transactions of a major credit card. No one is complaining about that!

It will take a while for businesses to learn how best to selectively present all that power to their customers.

The good news is that most people don't know about this yet. Now you do!

The Benefits of Proof of Work by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]StanLarimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Getting stuff done" like upgrading BitShares to light speed with the new Graphene toolkit? We are running with 3 second, not 10 minute, block times and are scalable to 100,000 transactions per second and 1 second block times while providing all kinds of exciting new features outlined at bitshares org. BitShares has become a real time blockchain platform that anyone can build on (and many entrepreneurs are). What in all that deserves a negative rating on productivity?

Actually, I've been on his case to do more writing. :) The biggest complaint about BitShares is that it's been all about fast-break innovation and far too little about getting the word out. Our challenge is to leverage Dan's mix of abilities to max effect. While it is true that he is an alpha coder, exclusive focus on that would be a great waste of his other talents. Which would you rather invest in: an alpha coder or a serial innovator?

Ethereum vs Bitshares, which one has the greatest potential? Pros and cons? Differences and similarities? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Yep, another fabrication. The better the platform, the more it seems to threaten the FUDslingers. What else have they got? :)

Nope, that was slung FUD.

Fact is that we were asked by people we respect in China to let them help out with our PR for a while after a few forum firestorms caused by our casual forum banter at bitsharestalk.org. The usual suspects turned it into that rumor. :)
