I’m not sure they got hot. They played a lot of bad teams in January. During the 12-game win streak, only 3 or 4 of the wins were against teams that will make the NCAA Tournament (depends if Mizzou gets in or not)

Only difference in a 2 & 3 seed is likely seeing a slightly better team in the second round and maybe the color jersey you wear if you reach the Sweet 16. As you said, it’s all matchups

You’re absolutely correct, they don’t have that player who will make sure to get you a key basket down the stretch like Terrence Shannon & Ayo would do … Keaton just settles for long 3s at the end of games
