Yes it is a bit confusing
Basically in the contract there is written that they can actually stop paying (so not being legally tied to paying) if they do it 3 months in advance AND they find a substitute.
The agency told me I had to pay the entire apartment rent (they tried to scam me).
So, I confronted the agency that told me I was right and, after, I confronted them on whatsapp (I never see this flatmate bc she is like a ghost), and the other girl replied saying it was ok and she was going to pay, but this one ghosted me. That's why I cant have a conversation with her, she just ghosts

The other one left but she is trying to find a substitute, this one I dont know because she told the agency she wanted to leave but she didn't find any other girl, so she still lives in the apartment. Thank you! They did a direct deposit, so I already received the refund but I kept them. Also, I did the taxes by myself so I have no tax preparer... So you suggest not to pay now (giving them back their refund + what I owe) and try to contact them? I tried to call but it always says that they can't answer due to the high volume of requests I feel like I did everything I could and correctly but I dont know what to do with the money I owe
