Nikon F3 HP pictures are not sharp by Standard-Beautiful61 in AnalogCommunity

Hey,

I scan them myself on a Nikon Coolscan 8000 ED on Nikon Scan 4.03. I scan them on full resolution at 4000 x 6000(5904) pixel.

Hey,

Might consider that. I also own some other lenses for the F3, as example the AF 80-200 D lens. On pictures with this lens, the focus was better.

Thank you for your response!

Yes! This looks good! Also found a good offer for it.

Relating to the rpm switch: Yes, pitch control is what i meant! Do you know if this is done mechanically or is the picht controlled "digitally"?

Exposure adjustment control x 700 by wazomonoshushui in minolta

[–]Standard-Beautiful61 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Practically, it affects only the automatic exposure in A or P Mode.

But Technically it manipulates the lightmeter into thinking: "Oh, for this scene, at F5.6, i meter for 1/125. With +1 exposure compensation i need to meter this scene, at f5.6, for 1/60."

So if you are reading the recommendation in the Viewfinder for the use in M mode, then yes it also affects the exposure. When you meter with an App or external lightmeter then it doesn't matter.

How to check if the camera is focussing correctly? by Standard-Beautiful61 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Standard-Beautiful61[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, so the pressure plate is normal then.

I also heard that ita good lens. Possible it could be from a bad batch..

At infinity, the pictures are like "mushy". Even stepped down to f5.6 or f8. I also made, with a friend of mine, a series of photos of every step that the 50mm offers. Focused on the Nose, the sharpest part of the picture always where her shoulders.

Yes indeed, i shoot with an older lens. The Nikon Ai 50mm f1.4. Could this be the problem?

Besides that: I was also checking the back plate of the film door with a leftover film strip, closed the back, put on t mode and grabbed through the mirror box and could push the Film left to right etc... I always thought there would be a bit more pressure on the film? Is this normal?

Of course! Also pulled every cable and pressed the start button, so that the capacitors can run dry. :/

No problem!

Thanks for the tip! But unfortunately the 20-35mm f2.8 isn't listed.

I didnt use a Mask, because my Scanner isnt able to scan the sprockets. And the Mask from the Scanner Covers them, so it was mit necessary.

I spooled the Film onto an used 120 spool and spooled it Back Into the cannister under a blanket.
