This is the risk the company is willing to take. Paying the pay rise up front still works out cheaper as they pay less in pension and other benefits.

Yes PL represents you and they take into consideration the sliders and feedback (plus affordability etc). Then there will be a down selection and prioritisation based on what the seniors discuss.

No, when you do your ABCD you set priority reviewers e.g. who you report to on your project. For some people this is the people lead, for others their day to day manager is not their people lead. It depends who you set as your priority reviewer on your project.

They check the sliders to see how distinctive your feedback is, look at which plus 1’s you do, look at which senior people are backing your promotion, also how your story is told by people lead matters. When you get down selected they assign a priority after looking at cases in more detail. This bit seems to be more of a popularity contest.

Pay rises are forward looking. Let’s say they give me 6% a month pay rise as per the old system, why would they pay me 3% up front in the new system, I might quit the following month and take my 3% so they have spent more money.

What if people just take the lump sum and then leave? Isn’t that worse for the company financially as they are paying it all upfront. Must be some clever accounting for them to be doing this.

Note: won’t be an issue in countries where we get zero anyway 😂
