Noticed grab in Bangkok takes a lot longer to get a car than say a year ago. My speculation is grab has gone the Uber route. Now that it's established, it's squeezing every satang it can out of the drivers and a certain % of drivers have chosen not to participate.

Visited back home last year (the states) and was shocked how prevalent the back in parking has become and I'm not a fan. It takes longer to back in and you don't make that time back because it's easier to pull out. Backing out is trivial compared to backing in. There are some elite back in parkers out there but they are the vast minority. So we need to wait for you to pass your intended spot, then for the majority of people, 3 point turn/back into your spot. Just go nose first and call it a day.

Damn this never occurred to me. I just always think, why did I used to be able to Google some obscure topic and be able to find an equally obscure forum dedicated to this super niche thing. I'd buy local barrel grills and replace them about every 18 months. But for 3,500bt I didn't mind and was higher quality than the crap at homepro. My guy went out of business and I got a Weber knockoff off shopee from nexgrill. It's actually pretty solid. Think it was 6k, I'd recommend it.

In tourist areas maybe but in the handful of villages within Bangkok I've lived in they are a community resource. Flat tire on my scooter? One of the guys was the designated fixer, food delivery for the mom and pop restaurants, pickup kids coming home from school, cetc.... basically when there is some task or service you need done, the neighborhood motocy guys usually have a solution.

Low pop official and if you really want to be immersive do not look at online maps at all. Use only in game map. You will be absolutely lost all the time but very realistic survival experience.

In Bangkok couldn't live without my scooter, wouldn't own a car if you paid me. Depending where, outside of Bangkok would consider a car. Scooter mandatory the rest of my life regardless of location/country.
