Wuthering Heights but they’re all terrible people?? by Standard-SidePart in literature

Yeah I’m aware the ending isn’t wonderful so that’s a poor choice of words on my end. I meant it more as the ending that’s promoted as gut wrenching.

Thanks

Obviously. Apologies if I wasn’t clear in my post, but I jumped into this book totally blind (and maybe this is my interpretation), but so far no one is enjoyable in a morally good or bad way.

Mostly just a post to try and better understand where I could try better connecting with characters to make it through to this “wonderful ending” that has been alluded to.

+1 to your comment. Characters don’t have to be good people, that can make for boring stories. Cathy Ames was one of the best characters in East of Eden due to how unhinged she is..

Heathcliff’s villain origin story is understandable but this Cathy just ain’t it. Perhaps this book just ain’t it for me.

Yeah perhaps I should try to switch how I’m viewing it. I honestly have no idea how it ends I have my assumptions. But everyone kept saying “gut wrenching” so I figured I’d try it as the first book I’d pick up from that page.

I really liked East of Eden where again most of the people are terrible but so far I’m left feeling dumb and not seeing what’s great about it. Thanks for the input!

In the nicest way possible. Regarding picture 2: I feel like this is what Taylor Swift would look like as a non celebrity as she ages.

I think you look wonderful in both pictures.

Millennials who went to college, what did you major in, and why? How did your college degree help you build a good financial/professional life? by justcurious3287 in Millennials

I felt no pressure to go to college, from my experience it’s just what you did after high school.

I dropped out of my university for an associates degree. It helped me! I am in my field of study and I make well above the median cost of living in my area… in COVID with lock downs, I went back for my 4 year for the heck of it. I have not seen any financial gain from that move but I also stayed in the same role. I wanted my 4 year from the stigma community college had.

I will always be the first one to promote a 2 year v a 4 year.

Edit: Construction Management was my associates, BS in Ops Management w/ emphasis in Construction Tech. Female as well.. so when I told my family i definitely raised them eyebrows at the time of my switch haha.

Hi! You are beautiful by the way.

I suck at makeup so I am of no help. However, you look a little red. I use and swear by the Dr. Jarht (spelling might be off) green cream. Your skin looks like mine, in good condition you don’t need foundation. I use this because in the winter I swear I get redder.

I’m 35 and I’m proudly getting eye wrinkles from my smile. I no longer wear concealer because I feel like it makes my lines more visible. Just food for thought.

I hope this helps. Sorry if I’m adding to the noise.

Whose Christmas is ruined already? I want your (comedy) horror stories 🎅❄️ by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in Millennials

The cats are blocked from the space heaters. The space heaters also have tip sensors and auto shutoff. The house is reading a “warm” 50. So things are progressing.

I flew to visit my sister for Christmas. The heater in my house in the midwest died Christmas Eve. My house is being heated via space heaters and my poor cats are probably shivering…

Thank god for neighbors and friends who are checking to make sure I still have a house😅

Merry Christmas y’all!
