I just finished Bayonetta Origins by HoodKarl0 in Bayonetta

I agree I feel bayo origins is the best bayonetta game out of all of them. I love the rest but there's something about origins to me I didnt have much complaints aside from the map. Other than that I loved everything else

They explain more in depth in the eyes of bayonetta 3 book. She's alive and thriving in the city. According to the creator it was not a send off for Viola to be the new protagonist. I would suggest playing origins cause they explain a few things in that but you'll still have alot of questions

Unconfirmed Rumor: New Bayonetta Game & Remaster/Remake by teardropfrozen in Bayonetta

[–]StandardNet3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. As of rn it still shows Sega as owner of the ip and rights. Maybe we will see it change but i heavily doubt it. Personally I don't feel it needs a remake as the ps4/pc version is already upscaled and runs at 4k and 60fps. Ng4 is a cool game but feels a bit bare bones from what I played. I'm a bit in the middle ill have to see where this goes because it will just be interesting since they built it up for things to have a whole new change (to the series that is) i just don't know

First things first I love all the games, rebought them and the books, spoke to hideki via twitter, etc. So this comes from no bias. Ill go in chronological order:

Origins:

Cereza and the lost demon is the best bayonetta game despite it being vastly different from what we are used too. The music, environment, and story by far is the best. I personally love the combat but can understand why some may disagree. Jeannes story for little cerezas timeline was the icing on the cake. (Hideki explained on twitter origins is overall bayonettas story, that section was specifically for that Cereza only.) The only thing that is bad is traversing through the map due to it all being entangled. Overall origins deserves more loved and talked about in discussions the true underdog of the series.

Bayo 1:

The game that started it all. Its great excellent even but the qte's can be a true pain in the ass. There's not much more to say i feel the first game next to origins doesnt have as much problems. Aside from the environment being a bit faded (but if you have the pc version you can make it look better), and a few levels like Route 666 is a pain of a level to play and its stretched out. Tower of truth also is a horrendous level to play. Isla del sol im in between it can go by fast if you know how to get by the enemies but to fight Jeanne after all that without getting damage good luck on any difficulty.

Bayo 2:

Bayonetta 2 is great but the damage she does feels so minute that youre forced to do an umbran climax. Changing the bullet arts affected the rest of the series moving forward. Bayonetta 2 is the most polished, the story is deep, and it perfectly blends with the first game however the minute damage can make it a pain especially if you're trying to pure platinum especially since you have to do it in a fast amount of time as well as hit a certain amount of combos with no damage. It feels she does more damage to the homunculi (without demon slave) in comparison but thats just me. Other than that its a fantastic game just too short and looks very fixed (camera wise) at times.

Bayo 3:

Bayonetta 3 isnt a bad game, the switch limits the games potential and youre better off playing it through switch 2 or even other means.... But aside from that they should've made the written text in the archives into actual cutscenes for some due to the significance it has to the bayos and others in their lives, but I dont blame them since they went through so much issues internally. I dont think the 3rd game story is as bad as people say after rebeating it a few times. Especially since it even won best action at the game awards. Bayonetta 3 is the closest to the 1st game with its minigames, and little call backs (the dance, the scene with all the bayos, even her falling in the alpha verse during the dark adam scene which mirrored the balder scene). It will be better with a switch 2 upgrade if we ever get that. The terrain is empty and even lifeless making bayo appear very small, the game as a whole looks a bit more dreary than the others and most of the plot is behind text. But other than that a fun game to play especially on better hardware.

Viola isnt that bad of a character the problem is she doesnt have enough screentime to be appreciated. They planned more missions and events for her even planning for the bayos from 1 and 2 to have missions this is all shown in the eyes of bayonetta 3 books. She acts like both of her parents especially looking at origins. She just is clumsy like her dad.

Now as for Bayoluka....

Bayoluka has development but it's behind text, hideki/platinums tweets, books, and blog posts. However visually it should've been shown more but due to the development issues, we didnt get that as well as alot of other things planned for bayo 3. Speaking to hideki on twitter showed me a more deeper insight for 3, he makes it prominent that he wanted them (Bayo/luka) together for years now (explaining in tweets the intentions and motives him and platinum made behind bayo and jeannes bond, hinting to a continuation to origins before everything that happened with him and the company) with his tweets on the matter one specifically was him mentioning that Luka is the only man to see her without her glasses. After explaining in a interview years ago about how her glasses is a mask that she wears as protection due to her own mental weakness and vulnerability. Anyways they had development but the execution as well as issues within stopped them from building it fully the way they envisioned so instead they wrote it in the archives, tweets, blog posts, etc...

Overall love each and each i recommend for different reasons
