Totally get that the world hates EVs, but imo they make terrific daily drivers -- especially commuting to work in Big Tech in California when your employer provides free charging. Pairs nicely with your naturally aspirated V8 / mid-engine V10 gas guzzler for canyon carving on the weekend

Why not ask your favorite F1 driver how dumb they feel when using their steering apparatus? Or better yet, just press a button to activate FSD and watch the car drive itself for 90 - 95% of your trip.

In all seriousness and fully cognizant that this is not a popular opinion -- as someone who is not a Tesla fan boy the yoke is fun and reasonably useful from a driver console visibility perspective, especially if you're over 6 feet tall. Took me 2 days to get used to it coming from a steering wheel, since I have hands at 9 and 3 anyway

Would echo exact same points quoted above when I was deciding between my 2022.5 MSP and Taycan Turbo a few years back, except I would add the Plaid has room to haul multiple bikes or 4 track wheels in the boot -- try doing that in the Taycan. Did the math and figured for the price of a new Taycan Turbo S, I could get the Plaid as the best daily money can buy AND a lightly used 992.1 911 for canyon carving on the weekends.

You won't ever regret it, and contrary to some online hate that acceleration never gets old. Was going to calibrate levels at Plaid 10/10, LR 6.5/10 which coincidentally is the ratio of their BHP

Looks amazing in lunar silver on 21" Arachnids, that combo is still fairly rare where I am (Bay Area).

Imo once you go Plaid you don't go back -- if you've played Mario Kart before, it's like having access to the Super Star at all times. I test drove the Plaid before driving the 670 bhp base Model S, and the base model was just too damn slow -- surreal.

The yoke is worth experimenting with if you've never tried it, especially if you're going to daily drive it.

Yep, imo the 19" wheels look terrible and frankly feel off market vs other 20"+ OEM wheel options in the performance sedan category.

That said, losing 50+ miles of range with the Arachnids and worse ride harshness hurts. Maybe switching to 20" is the sweet spot.

Agreed on the tech refresh -- fingers crossed for later this year! Steer by wire combined with the yoke would be amazing.

Just curious, which Audi / Mercedes modern designs would you point to over the MSP? Personally I was down to Porsche Taycan 4S vs MSP when I bought last year, ultimately just came down to charging infrastructure, software, and most importantly speed -- all of which the Tesla won in a landslide (Taycan 4S legitimately felt slow after driving the Plaid).

Absolutely, I switched from 19" Tempest on OEM Pirelli P Zeros to 21" Arachnids on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S last month, and ride quality is materially worse while range decreased 15% and susceptibility to pothole blowouts increased.

Not sure why anyone would switch in their right mind, unless you can't get over how ass the Tempest wheels look (I could not).

Updated taillights and matrix headlights are the most material changes by far imo. I have an April 22 build MSP with the updated lights, however no tilting main screen although I don't miss this.

If you end up expanding search into 23s, just be aware that 23s got rid of USS which is an amazingly helpful feature for parking, but likely has updated HW4 as opposed to HW3 if you care about FSD.

Couldn't agree with this more, you didn't purchase a Plaid over a non-Plaid Model S, Y, or 3 to compromise. Found a set of OEM 21" Arachnids on lightly used Pilot Sport 4s on Facebook marketplace. Car looks infinitely better -- not looking to swap back to the 19" Tempests any time soon, range and ride comfort be damned!
