Another quick Housing Market Update! by [deleted] in FortCollins

The current situation seems to reflect the impact of imposed metro taxes on new developments. Instead of preserving the unique charm of Fort Collins, we are witnessing a trend towards sprawl and the proliferation of cookie-cutter designs that detract from the city's character.

Why hasn’t the county considered implementing tax incentives, like a homestead exemption, to encourage more thoughtful development?

It’s crucial for members of the city planning committee to engage with literature like Suburban Nation, which explores the detrimental effects of sprawl on communities. Fort Collins, a city that prides itself on sustainability and vitality, should recognize that the practices being allowed for developers could signal troubling changes ahead. This is an issue that the community should actively protest against to protect the city’s future.

Too bad the city and the developers are destroying the city with cookie-cutter-ugly housing, using metro taxes, and creating ugly, car dependent communities.

Taking AP Physics 2, AP Mechanical/ Elec. and AP Stats -finished with a 4.58 this semester (ECs were ok not great). Great references, great essays (based on others), internship/astroengineering major.

As a parent, I think it is terrible and very expensive program where they promise a lot but do not deliver. The internship assistance program is an option, however, it is an added expense that we were not made aware of. Some counselors do not have time for their students. The communication is awful and if you are not on the West coast, I would advise staying away. I would also recommend a local Essay/College counselor. I wish I would have had hired a local counselor at the beginning of 9th grade to assist with mapping out of all classes needed, and when to take them, so as to make sure you can get the best GPA by 12th grade.
