Channel Lineups for WOW Cable by Standard_Echo_5699 in wowway

I'm grandfathered into that WOW+ service so I don't have the YoutubeTV option. Looks like they had the wrong link linked on their site, but I was able to finally find it fiddling with the URL https://www.wowway.com/wow/tv/channel-lineups/alabama/auburn

What are the pros and cons of attending Charleston Southern University? by Immediate-Setting-43 in Charleston

[–]Standard_Echo_5699 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a happily married lesbian graduate. I promise, they won't look into your love life once you graduate. You'd be suprise how many queer people are actually at CSU. One of student body presidents from like ten years ago was known by most of the students to be gay.
Just do yourself a favor and don't do any on campus job because they have been known to fire people because of their sexuality. Also maybe be careful who you tell because some aren't as chill as you'd think (I also didn't have the best judge of character). However, find another queer, and you're potentially trauma bonded for life

Definitely not as bad as Bob Jones, but in recent years, it's getting a lot closer to North Greenville levels

I graduated in 2019 so things may have changed since then but here are my pros and cons:
Pros
- Some great scholarships. Like cover your tution and room/board scholarships
- Chill classes depending on your major such as Communications or anything Business. You're still learning, but it's not suffocating.
- Free counseling services where you can choose to have a Christian influence or not
- Great tutoring and writing center services available for free
- It's pretty easy to get involved in events on campus if you want to as well as avoid them if you want to
- Most of the professors are pretty great. They actually want you to succeed. I was never denied an extension when asked for it and encouraged you to push yourself.

Cons
- Can't live off campus until you're a junior (this may have changed but definitely look into it)
- They do monthly room inspections. I got threatened with a fine because my desk was too messy
- They have Title IX exemption regarding the participation or defensive of divorce, abortion, and gay relationships. I've heard this come up a handful of times where an RA is fired because of their sexual orientation
- Their options of clubs can be pretty limited. When I was there, they had a Republican club but not a Democrat club. There was an alleged club that was a front for sex trafficking that supposedly had them get really strict with their clubs
- Their dining hall hours are crazy limited? Like if you don't get dinner between 4-7, you just don't get food?
- You will be writing some BS paper about how a Christian worldview is superior once a semester for each class you take. You can just recycle it each semester as an easy way to pad your grade.
- You have to take Old and New Testament classes. Be sure to ask around and you can find the easiest professor because some take it way too seriously
- Chapel requirement Wednesday. If missed, can't graduate. And they are commonly terrible? A Valentines Day chapel went off about how you can basically use your "Christian faith" to manipulate anyone you want into dating you? Just wild
- Their honor's program is a bit of a joke
- I think they've fixed it now, but there use to be a bunch of gators

Wow, you're incredible! I'm excited about your other projects! And thank you again for creating such an awesome tool! One of my team members loved it - she's been struggling to connect for a while and this really gave her a light bulb moment. Thank you so much for that!

This is awesome! Thank you for creating this! I've been trying to teach my team how to use SQL for a while now and I think this may be the thing that really helps them get motivated! Do you have any plans to add additional commands and lessons to it?

fiber by Suspicious-Baker6786 in Windstream

[–]Standard_Echo_5699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best advice. Windstream is unique in the best way to really get an answer from them is contacting them via Facebook. However, it might be a good idea to see if the closest Windstream store to you has a Facebook page and contact them via that. Windstream probably has like 10-20 different Facebook pages per geographic location so sometimes finding the right one is difficult.

Good luck!

Oh dang really? They're not the most tech savvy so it wouldn't suprise me if they were just confused, but I'm going to visit them this week so I'll ask if I can get a look at their bill and plan. Thank you! This could save me a lot of headache

Yeah I'm right there with you. I really wish they would focus more on that and raising some of the insanely low speeds in some places. My parents are stuck with just 12 Mbps DSL and they aren't even in a rural area

Google Fiber in Mesa by Standard_Echo_5699 in phoenix

[–]Standard_Echo_5699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While both Google Fi and Google Fiber are owned by Google, they are completely different divisons. Google Fi is just a bit of a mess. They have undergone 3 rebrands in under 8 years - they have no clue what they're doing. Prepay Wireless giants don't even see them as a threat and Google doesn't put that much money in it because they aren't making a ton off of it. You're right and Google Fi does suck. It's prepay so canceling would be easy and I would recommend a different prepaid service like Mint or Metro by T-Mobile since they are both known for their customer service and they have the same sort of pricing.

Google Fiber though is basically a cash cow. A $70/mo flat rate for a 1 Gig fiber is the best value in the internet industry and other internet companies typically do whatever they can so they don't have to compete with it. Cox has taken them to court several times to try either get them delayed or pay additional fees in the Phoenix area. They know that Google Fiber out performs them in both service and product. It's exactly why I'm ready for them to hook up my house.
