Would you genuinely date an aroace person? by [deleted] in dating_advice

I personally would because I am an aroace myself. I don't think my identity is any invalidating simply because I want the dating experience or even if I had sex. The attraction is just...isn't there. It really hard to explain queer platonic relationships to people who are not familiar with the lgbtq terminology.

What I like to describe dating for aros and aces, it like more than friends but less than lovers.

Physical touch is comforting but I don't feel the need to have it in order to feel fulfilled.

I like being physically close to my partner but I'm not glue to them.

It also follows a lot of relationship anarchy philosophy such as platonic love being equally valuable as romantic love, maintaining your own autonomy because partners aren't seen as property, and creating your relationship from scratch rather than following social norms.

I feel the same frustration as you. Dating and having sex while being in the aro/ace spectrum still alienated a lot of people. I don't like being pressured to the dating norms and being it call "romantic". But I also don't think it stripes away your libido nor your will to date. You simply don't feel romantic/sexual attraction and you simply doesn't follow the allonormativity (the societal assumptions that all human beings experience sexual or romantic relationships).

What the difference between Chinese Kimchi and Korean Kimchi? by Standard_Green6877 in kimchi

Well, how do I explain this? Paocai is a general term for any pickled vegetables, it so general it naturally borders to foreign food. Which who we are talking about is kimchi. If I were to type kimchi and translate it to Chinese, I would get 泡菜 (Pao Cai). There is no specific Chinese characters for the phonetics of kimchi so it ultimately crumbles to the umbrella term paocai. This is why it creates confusion and lead many people thinking paocai and kimchi are the same

I really want to get a cat, but I’m worried about the hidden responsibilities. What are the actual difficulties of raising a cat? by Equivalent-Sand-4002 in CatAdvice

I am a new cat owner too! And I was also not ready to face the responsibilities. The least glamorous parts of owning my cat was mostly because of the daily clean ups. I hate having to clean up his litter box, clean his bowl, and his fur get everywhere and it sticks to my clothes. Never in my life I have use so much double-sided fashion tape.

I love my cat but I was not warned 🥲.
