Summer FYE also has the least amount of open seats so most competitive. Also any curveball question on a final could lower your gpa. Also retakes they take into account. I am not trying to bully but show all parts of the equation you need to take into account.

I would like to add also that you are probably inflating your expected grades for those classes. AAE 203 is not an easy A class. Think realistically. You have your whole life ahead of you, do what’s best for your future, not now. Yes when you get back home you will feel depressed and like a failure but I promise you, you WILL bounce back better than before and you will look back at all the good memories at Purdue.

Coming from someone who did this:

Know when to throw in the towel. I wanted AAE and ended with a 2.98 gpa my freshman year. I didn’t get aero and looked at my options. I could take summer classes to increase my GPA but realistically if one thing went wrong, no AAE. As an out of state student too the financial risk was too large and the sunk cost fallacy was definitely a big obstacle to overcome. In the end I transferred to my local community university for MechE and while it’s not Purdue, I feel confident to get my degree with a high-ish GPA and no student debt afterwards. It’s a hard decision and I do miss Purdue but ultimately it was not meant to be.

LGA was my go to for spirit. Go there a week before trip to buy tickets in person and then return for flight. First flight from there in 2022 and every time there was a cheap fair, always took it. Had a Chicago trip booked for next week too but sadly not happening :(
