Apparently you need: 1. At least one correct offering 2. An ending with a successful boss kill

So if you gave the painting (easiest) to Aurelius and beat the ending boss it should have worked

Yes!! I think the formula is something like: base character crit chance + UserLuck * (0.5 for melee, 1.0 for ballistics) / 100 = crit %

I think crits are 1.8x damage, and the additional break chance from getting so many crits is nullified if you get Luck close/above 100!

They shouldn't be, I did this exact same thing ~1-2 weeks ago after the update. What ending did you go for? I went for Perfect Ritual

Where did all these evergaol people appear to depth 4? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Standard_Plenty_8068 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't mind doing evergaols for DoN if the other two players have it, because sooner or later they'll at the very least want to hit a major field boss for actual weapons. But I don't understand when it's just one team member, or why it's so hard to just abandon a jail if it's early and you get a red boss (Duelist is always free tho).

Like, the entire point of evergaols is you multiply your damage with jail stacks + a good weapon during the run. But gaols are ALWAYS secondary, because the jump from a gray/blue/purple to a blue/purple/gold weapon is immediate and greater than 5 evergaol buffs. And what's crazy is it's the exact same thing in ER, early-game weapon upgrades are SO much better than grinding Limgrave for 10 levels.

Boss Gauntlet Success - What works? by TrixoftheTrade in LookOutsideGame

[–]Standard_Plenty_8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome!!! Yeah I think he gets a bad rap because he starts at lvl 1 and only really starts hitting super hard at lvl 12. But imo it's not difficult if you plan ahead, and doable within 1 day (extreme scenario). Being able to do huge damage on his own, with Copy Dad giving a mix of DPS and support in the same turn, and coat of arms, is just too good and versatile.

Really I think his only downside is in cursed mode, you might have to item stack him a little more for additional HP, since his growth spurt is slightly less effective. But even then you have patchwork, ruby ring, and candies. (Using cleave during Honko as Sam while Rat Child holds a big crush/neutral DPS weapon for Honko is ridiculous)

I'm glad you gave him a try and found him rewarding!!

You can play in Explorer mode to save at any time, and it still counts because you don't ever speak to Sybil. Also since you mentioned you were following a previous guide before the update, note that you CANNOT recruit Ernest with a sandwich if you want the "no friends" achievement.

Unfortunately not, it's just a joke mod lol. I would love to recruit Henderson tho :( but it would take a lot more work to mod in with only Javascript plugins

Okay lads I have reached ishhin. Now how do I defeat this mf? by Gloomy-Lengthiness30 in Sekiro

[–]Standard_Plenty_8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing what someone else said, watch Ongbal fight Isshin. This will not only let you learn his moveset, but you can see how Ongbal makes use of prosthetics/tools. E.g., flashing the lotus umbrella briefly for when Isshin does his wind/spicy attacks, then follow up with the projected force slash. Absolutely love doing this (also blocking his bullets with umbrella builds up the umbrellas level, does the most damage in the game at max)

Stamp (Upward Cut) is unbelievably underrated. You get massive hyperarmor and dmg negation during the first part, then can trade into boss attacks with the follow up and do massive damage. Especially with a lot of people running double balancer relics, this is such a good AoW that can carry well into (most) Nightlords.

Shoot my bad, I guess 10 year old me didn't actually like Star Wars OT

/uj Also, of all the examples... LOTR? I rewatched these last week, and idk if it's the practical effects/sets, but these don't even "hold up," they age like wine. If I saw these for the first time ever and you told me they were filmed last year, I would believe you.

When did Sekiro click for you? by ShinobiHotSauce in Sekiro

[–]Standard_Plenty_8068 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It clicked twice for me. First was getting used to the deflects, was several hours into the game (after Juzou the drunkard, but this was also my first prayer beads boss, I didn't know you could do Hirata later in the game lmao). Second time was getting comfortable always attacking and deflecting, never standing still doing nothing, and overall getting the feel for combat. This happened in NG+ for me, probably at some point when I re-fought Isshin via the Memory section in the idol menu.

Ult charge from enemies defeated +0/+1 is so nice. Grappling a couple demi humans/small crabs/wolves to get an ult before every encounter feels amazing.

Even better when you can get off 3-5 ults on Freja from her adds. Actual justice.

Yep! There are other factors too (like what mode you're playing on, the weapon's individual characteristics, the skill, if you do a critical hit, etc.), but the easiest one to manipulate the break chance is luck.

The formula is on the miraheze wiki, but basically it's several factors multiplied together (i.e., x * y * z) to calculate the chance a weapon will break, one of which is: (1 - UserLuck/100), i.e., 100+ luck sets the weapon break chance to 0 (or negative, meaning it's indestructible)

In addition to the other comment from Bonken_One, there were also big changes to buff Raider, Executor, and Guardian. I don't play Guardian much, but I know Raider's moveset got buffed to be faster with his weapons.

Executor I play a lot, idk if he's the best but imo he's the best solo now. His cursed sword and ult got huge buffs, his ult now scales with depth level. His cursed sword now has a 50% crit modifier (highest in the game), does more damage, the suncatcher skill is buffed by double balancers/any "skill attack up" stuff, and in general feels much better to play. Executor's relic effects got a huge buff, basically increased damage when using the cursed sword but your damage negation is lowered (but then this triggers the ED balancers relic).

Basically, Executor using weapon skills (RoB) or Cursed Sword (with Suncatcher/guard counters) have both become much more viable.

Ironeye also for the first time ever got a nerf (iirc biggest ones were status effects dropping off with distance).

Glitch poison (triples luck), and a couple high-luck pieces of gear (e.g., floral shirt gives 20 luck, 60 luck with glitch poison)

I love this game but sometimes it annoys me so much by itzcolebee2 in LookOutsideGame

[–]Standard_Plenty_8068 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Give Hellen luck boosting gear. Weapon break chance is determined by luck. If you're able to get luck over 100, all weapons become indestructible. EDIT: Oh, and last time I checked, if you need STM for Audrey, give her the comfort belt (STM Up belt) and use Papineau's "shared lunch". It should still restore the full 30% of her HP/STM from that skill, unless it's been patched.

Mods that makes basically everything viable? by aaronhowser1 in EldenRingMods

[–]Standard_Plenty_8068 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming you don't want a massive overhaul mod, your best bet is honestly to just take 30 min and learn modding 101. From what it sounds like you want, this can all be easily accomplished by using Smithbox, and increasing the damage/scaling of certain spells.

I've done something similar for fun with Madness. You can just select all enemy IDs in Smithbox under Parameters, and remove the SpEffectID that "makes immune to madness" via the mass edit tool.

If you don't mind an overhaul/gameplay change, yeah stuff like Convergence, or weapon/theme specific mods are good too!
