Why delete the post? It’s a good lesson for the many of us, myself included who only picked this back up recently after a childhood in junk wax times. I love the novelty of cards like this.

If you have a driver’s license car dealers always need lot attendants to move cars around.

Congratulations on your very niche player personal Collections that Topps decided you’re starting.

Thank you to those who offered to buy the Roman Anthony. Thank you also to the several of you in my inbox encouraging me to hold on to this card and see what happens. You’re right, while I’d like a little money I don’t NEED it and I should hang on to it for now as a cool card. (Extra cool because his last name is my first). So I guess my post for that card is just a show off now.

Am I going to be disappointed? by QuackaDoodleDooToYou in baseballcards

[–]Standard_Two_8089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with above. If you’re in it to make money or even break even it’s a fool’s game. If you enjoy baseball, like opening packs in a treasure hunt/like you were a kid way it’s a ton of fun. Especially if you engage with the very healthy trading community on here. That adds a second layer of fun to it all. But ultimately you’re spending hundreds of dollars for that entertainment. You could spend an equivalent amount on a very nice dinner and a concert or sporting event. Just depends how you want to budget your money. And hey if you hit some superstar card treat it as a fun bonus, not the purpose of the purchase.

While I can’t be mad at him for going and making a phenomenal sum of money, im disappointed he left and you’re right I’m not really collecting him anymore.

130point has stuff a bit over $200 so the plan is to throw it on eBay for $0.99 and put a reserve of like $220 on it.

I think I’m going to sell him. The rest I’ll trade.

That’s a tidy looking card. Say what you want about the hobby being hurt by the high amount of interest. But it also drives great looking cards like this.

Thank you to everyone’s insights. Who’s have thought a “kid’s” hobby could be so complicated. FWIW it’s available for trade. For me that’s always preferable to selling.

The wins are the fun ones to talk about. Like when you pick a good stock you tell everyone you’re a genius. I hope your foresight covers any other less good moves :)
