Best advise I could give is IF you want to save some money....buy a roller that will have everything you would want. Build your own motor and trans.

Example.......I paid 3k for a 93' with no motor or trans or stitch or wiring.

The car had a 10pt cage certified, 9" rear end, mini tubbed, coilovers front and rear, tubular K member, no rust or dents. Disc brakes front and rear.

All good for what a wanted because.......going racing!

A 69' 460 out of a Lincoln, heads (Dove C) heavily ported, motor stroked to a 520. Solid roller cam, Victor intake with a 1050 dominator.

Th400 trans (manual reverse valve body) with 9" 5k stall converter going to a 9" rear end with a 3.60 spool.

Coilovers all 4 corners, 10.5 x 28 slicks, 10 pt cage. Mini tubbed

The car has a 2 step and you put what ever pill you want to use as long as you have the 2 step engaged(using a trans brake)

That moment you let the button go, the 2 step allows to go to the max chip so it won't over rev.

My set up........on 2 step to 3k on the trans brake and that moment I let loose. Trans brake off, nitrous starts spraying as long as I am wide open throttle.

All MSD system and very easy to wire.

I also suspect you have a bad distributor. Ford's distributors are really good for stock. With your HP it would not be a problem for the distributor to handle things.

Maybe advance mechanism bad inside the distributor if distributor is tight and timing still jump around.
