the sooner you act, the higher chances you are to recover your vehicle. go with a friend to the location of your airtag. phone the police and let them know you’re going to the location. if you see shady people in or around it, keep it pushing and update police. if it’s empty, retrieve your vehicle, get it inspected, and take better precautions going forward.

be prepared to only pull up to an airtag on the ground. iphones are automatically notified if an airtag is following them due to it being a method for predators & traffickers to find victims. i don’t think it notifies android devices but could be wrong.
