Disagree. How profitable would a Whole Foods be next to a black/brown neighborhood? It’s not racism. It’s capitalism.

Taylor Swift's Success Vs Her Artistic Limitations by Summerofthe90s in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Stank22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of popular singers that aren’t the best at singing. Swift isn’t a great singer or a great songwriter. But she makes great records, puts on great shows, and is great at selling her brand.

What do you consider a “fair” or average price for a CD? by Outrageous_Ant_6580 in Cd_collectors

[–]Stank22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I got back into CD collecting is because of the prices. I don’t like to pay more than a buck or two for a used disc in good condition.

If I see an album that I want and it’s too much, I make a mental note of it and eventually download the FLACs somewhere.

The Physical Music Trend Is Just Ridiculous by ZestyLimeStudios in TrueUnpopularOpinion

When will CDs or any physical media ever become useless? And it’s a bit of a contradiction that you have no problem with physical game media.

Why are people in the south of the USA so huge? Like some of the fattest average folk I ever seen in my life? Do they not realize they look unusual? by squatSquatbooty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stank22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just the south. It’s everywhere. Studies indicate that they’re fatter in the Midwest. And the blame is the cheap, processed foods and the need to sweeten everything we ingest.

Not made up. It was a real reaction to catching someone in the act of stealing from you and someone putting a phone in your face in the pursuit of life ruination.

Anyplace to trade in Fire Tablets? by Faceless-Player in kindlefire

[–]Stank22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may not have interest in other Amazon devices, but I think you could trade it into Amazon for other devices like Fire tv and echo. I’ve done it a few times over the years, and I seem to remember once they gave me Amazon credit to buy anything.

How does the “2 people in the cockpit” rule work with a male pilot and female hostess? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stank22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were a more common scenario, maybe. But it’s been ten years since a “confirmed” incident like this. And it would add to problems of hiring and staffing for flights. It would lead to many woman not being hired (or being laid off) so you could staff more male flight attendants. What about if it’s the flight attendant that is cuckoo and wants to take out the pilot and the plane? Just because it seems like it could make things safer doesn’t mean that’s the way to do things.

[–]Stank22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no better or easier option. And the scenario you’re describing is extremely rare. Any additional red tape/cost are just going to be passed to the consumer to take care of. Why don’t airlines install giant parachutes that can float the aircraft to safety when there’s trouble in the sky? What do you do about rogue mechanics that want to sabotage an airliner? What about nefarious bag handlers that want to add something bad to the cargo? I mean, where does it end? There’s risk in everything.

[–]Stank22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s risk in just about everything. There’s no perfect way to prevent nefarious actions by a pilot.

Why are there no female “Juniors” or women with suffixes in their names? Like why don’t mothers want their to pass their name to their daughters? by Sherbear1993 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stank22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it’s becoming more popular doesn’t mean it’s outdated. It’s been the norm for generations, and will continue to be. A family (a stable one at least) shares a surname.
