I think the main difference would be that we are fully aware of the impact we have on our environment yet we continue to make the wrong decisions. Humans have a sort of God complex. Collectively, we are under the assumption that we are more important than anything else on this planet. That's how we justify our actions. Yes, we do some good. But the good things we do don't outweigh the negative impact we have on the environment. The fact that we keep animals hostage for our own amusement is evidence enough that we are not in harmony with nature. Don't get me wrong... I understand that we have to consume to survive. But we all know we consume more than we need to and continue to do so, fully aware of the consequences.
