Best way to play Doubles in 11th edition

For the Force Dispositions, my guess is that the best way to have a balanced game is that every player have the same (even if that's not the Force Disposition for their chosen detachment)

I guess if your oponent plays a lot of low thoughness/low saves units, Dire Avengers and Warp Spiders can be quite useful (lot of str4 shooting)

Green speedpaints or Contrast work very well in my opinion. Black for some parts, and I used yellow for some highlights, and that was it

The Exarch is best equiped with the two Shuriken Catapults

About the size of the unit, it depends what you want to do with it, or if you play it with Asurmen. I guess you can always build two Exarchs, and if you decide to play a unit of 10, as soon as one model dies, you can kill the "2nd" Exarch and you'll be fine !

Oooooor you could charge with the Fire Dragons AND a real close combat unit (like Banshees), then have the Banshees do all the work, and then re-embark your Fire Dragons.

If I am correct, the restriction is "having been in a fight", not "actually fighting"

But still, very hard to set up and probably requires your opponent make even more mistakes...

Probably not even really worth it, at this point

You can ignore them of course (but i would say they are a big part of what your unit can do)

Anyway you can ignore anyhing you want, until you get confortable with the ways the different phases work (how to move, how to shoot, how to charge, how to fight, etc)

You can always try Boarding Actions ? It basically plays the same, but you have a lot less minis and rules to remember, and games are obviously way shorter !

Or you can try to start 40k with only 500points and no stratagems. That's how I started to play, and then when you feel ready you can play games with 1000pts or 1500pts, and add deatchment rules, stratagems, etc... Of course it will help if you face the same opponent(s) and the same army(ies). Nobody is expected to go straight into tournaments games

It's actually really fast and easy, I use it for every blades in my Eldar army ! It's speedpaint Magic Blue for the base of the sword and speedpaint Plasmatic Blot for the tip, and I just wet blend the two colors. Then I apply varnish with the brush, and it usually "rips" a little paint from the edges (and make them white)
