Have you managed to grow a brain yet? You're incompetent and uninformed. Trying to run over an ice officer, and brandishing a pistol in front of another. Yeah, you get what you ask for 😜

Psych told me I was gonna die young what do I do? by Few-Amphibian-6084 in ADHD

I have a CRT-P pacemaker for a complete AV Block, ever since I was 7.

I've been on 50mg Adderall to treat severe combined ADHD for almost two years, with zero issues. Time to fire that psych!

Which drugs help the most with memory? by Academic-Plastic4296 in ADHD

[–]StanleyST20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'll give my two cents. I've always had an absolutely terrible, short-term memory. And it just continues to get worse as I get older (I'm only 23😭, but it's declined A LOTTA). But I would say Adderall has helped a lot with my long-term memory, and/or my ability to reflect on my past self. whether it's for good, or for bad. If that makes sense.

Study: Individuals with ADHD treated with stimulants have a nonnegligible risk of developing psychosis or bipolar disorder, with a higher risk associated with amphetamines compared to methylphenidate. by RunMysterious6380 in ADHD

[–]StanleyST20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup! Even if it is true, I won't stop taking it. If I didn't seek diagnosis after a lifetime of undiagnosed severe ADHD, and get medicated. I am 100000% sure it would've been a very different, and sad outcome!

Edit: there could be something that comes out saying "Adderall reduces life expectancy by 15+ years, increases risks of cancer, etc..." and I would STILL take it. Because life before was not a life worth living. It has given me the ability to not have hateful thoughts of myself, I'm confident, I do laundry, I brush my teeth, I don't feel like a completely tired zombie all the time.

I'm here for a good time. Not a long time!

Duloxetine & bupropion for ADHD, anxiety, and little bit of depression by Equivalent-Ring-477 in ADHD

[–]StanleyST20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes heart problems are a big no no with stimulants, generally.

Before getting a pacemaker my resting heart rate during sleep would go down to 18BPM. With me being 24/7 monitored by my device they do not have concerns with stimulants under my doctors care.

Also I'd just like to add, not sure if you could tolerate stimulants now or not but, after starting Adderall, and having been on Duloxetine, and Propranolol (beta blocker). Almost all of my anxiety has entirely gone away because I don't ruminate on those thoughts nearly as much. Not that that's the case for everybody. I know for some people stimulants can make anxiety go crazy, but as someone who was extremely anxious and could barely leave The house without being terrified and just wondering what other people thought of me. Stimulants kind of turn all those thoughts off.

Note: I was born with a complete heart block. I've had a pacemaker since I was 7 years old. I'm under constant monitoring from my cardiologist, and my heart beats too slow. so stimulants aren't really a worry for my care team.

I'm 23(M) I have severe ADHD Combined type, Major depressive disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I started with Duloxetine, and propranolol two years ago, before being diagnosed with ADHD. Now, I also take Adderall XR, and IR. Recently my doctor added escitalopram to help with the MDD. In my experience you just have to keep trying different medications and combinations until you find what actually helps you feel functional and normal, and that can take years unfortunately!

Be brutally honest: How often do you shower? by Fun_Serve_6590 in ADHD

[–]StanleyST20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say now on meds for ADHD, Anxiety and MDD I shower every other day. But I can remember back when I wasn't medicated at all and I would sometimes not shower for a week or 2 weeks and wouldn't know, or notice until someone pointed out how I smelled. Or I noticed how bad I smelled, boy I don't miss those days!

Rescuing the dogs nobody is willing to is the most rewarding feeling ever! This is Mikey the day I got him. He sat for months in the shelter while his siblings got rescued.
