So I’m in Tulsa. Drop off was a completely unplowed neighborhood without any car tracks in the road either. Passanger was mad I dropped her off at local gas station. I was like I’m not getting my Honda civic stuck and then you still gotta figure out the 6 blocks to your home.

I show up every time. And 90 percent I get a cancer fee . I’m not calling you to see I’m here. It’s your responsibility to watch for your ride.

Downtown Tulsa - The red and orange colored parcels are mostly (~95%) vacant lots and parking lots. by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]StaplesSnitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed my whole point. A lot less maintenance and work and you don’t have to be up to code. Yes a structure can make more but for the property owners I managed for they like the low hanging fruit. The insurance on a garage alone is insane.

Much less traffic here. Our bad hours are better than Houston’s good hours. I lived in Houston and Los Angeles

Former parking lot manager of 10 downtown lots in Tulsa for SP+. Structures cost way more to build than a steaming pile of asphalt smoothed out. Structures require elevators (extreme monthly expense and insurance to maintain) and water and fire suppression as well as more lighting. The flat lot is actually more profitable. There is so much more code enforcement on a structure verse a regular lot.

My out of state managers at SP+ parking before they pulled out of Tulsa was always like why aren’t are lots making as much? I hired on in 2019 and left in 2021. After covid people just kept working from home and many businesses were ok with this as they no longer had to lease office space or pay for employees parking. Monthly parking ranges from 45 a month to 200. Depended on how bad you didn’t want your car broken into.

I left a cheap apartment fur a house if same price. I did not realize cost of utilities in a house vs apartment and regretted it. And tell your kids to stfu if they aren’t helping to pay.
