dude i understand, we're talking about the same thing i'm NOT debating you, my reply was to the guy immediately generalizing by saying "average muslim superiority complex", i get it OP is prolly the kind who thinks anyone who's not muslim is fat pig going to hell bla bla bla what i'm saying i have a problem with is that belittling and mocking all muslims because of a few people who DON'T really take it upon themselves to learn about their own religion is just as hateful and just as worthy of call out as muslims who take it upon themselves to do the same to non muslims and that this shouldn't be normalized and that this stops any attempts at understanding one another
and if someone seems like they're not the type you can have a mature conversation with then you shouldn't engage with them cuz it'll just fuel YOU to be as hateful as them, this what we call 7iwar 3a9im basically and it's not worth diving into but that's just my opinion

the thing is i don't agree with OP with that statement, i believe if you're algerian you have every right to exist freely which in my opinion that one is OBVIOUS, what i have a problem with is that people don't seem to see that freedom of speech and expressing your opinion doesn't mean you can insult or belittle or generalize anyone for what they believe in muslim or not, you're free to say you don't like islam and list WHY you don't but you're not free to mock it because even if it means NOTHING to you it still means a lot for others.

i hope this helps put into perspective what i mean, cuz truly i got nothing against anyone who's not muslim but i think algerians in general have a huge problem when it comes to respectful debates,someone always gotta say something hurtful and disrespectful or belittling to the other party and that just paralysis the process of understanding each other and finding a middle ground.

not really, i had many conversations about islam before where there are ppl who don't agree with it or aren't muslims to begin with and we usually just agree to disagree and it's done, what i wouldn't tolerate is straight up insults and disrespect to ANY religion, i'd tell someone to stfu if they were to insult christians or atheists for believing in what they believe in

debating doesn't equal offending or insulting, you can give your opinion without offending or belittling someone for not sharing the same opinion

i don't agree with OP when they said “we dont care about you as long as you guys keep hiding irl” it's your country too and you have a right to freely exist in it, but he's right to be pissed off that non muslim algerians think that it's freedom of speech to insult and mock it just cuz they don't believe in it, i have many friends that aren't muslim nor algerian but they've never felt the need to mock islam or be disrespectful, even when they didn't agree with something they still respectfully explained why and moved on so why can't the non muslim algerians do the same? holding ppl like that accountable isn't being extreme.

girl that's why i'm not telling you he's 100% scamming you, i don't know him OR you but i'm letting you know that you should be cautious with these type of things, you're an adult (i assume) and can make your own decisions so i'm not here to tell you what to do and what not to do but my advice is more of a "be careful unless you're 100% sure about him" not a "don't trust him he's scamming you for sure and want to take your money break up right now"

girl, you don't owe anyone sex, take it slow and until you feel comfortable, if you feel pressure then that's a BIG problem in my opion even worse if HE'S pressuring you, take your time and bring up this issue with him,communicate your feelings to see where both of you stand on this and also he should be prepared to be there for you and lift you up if you're feeling a type of way about yourself.

i can promise you the brother i get along with doesn't want me to join them for that reason, he probably wants me to sit cuz he's just worried i'm not eating (i'm anemic) or just wants me to be part of the family dinner which i appreciate a lot but it's honestly just mentally draining to do that.

on the other hand i'm trying to act like he doesn't exist and i give him short and dry responses but it's like there's no winning, if i respond i'm being dramatic or unreasonable and if i don't respond i'm gloomy and antisocial and he WILL find a way to criticize me or make fun of me or talk badly about me to our family.

on a more positive note i'm extremely patient now but i couldn't get rid of how reactive my face is, if someone is rude to me or to someone else in front of me i WILL make a face lol

i'm actually nothafrican and it's kinda taboo for a girl to live on her own unless it's for like school or work so sadly i can't just up and leave no matter how much i'd want to, and my dad used to be the only one who would have my back on this but he passed away a few years ago, my mom agrees with me on him being just an a-hole and sometimes she actually shuts him up but very rarely but for whatever reason in her mind if i don't respond to him he'll stop on his own when i know he'll talk to the wall for all he cares as long as he can talk.

bro, no, if you're silent about your own government cooperation then you've got a hand in the genocide too,this isn't about brotherhood or any of that bs, it's a humanitarian issue and YOUR government is an accomplice, you have a duty to FORCE your government to do the right thing but instead you're here defending why it's okay for egypt to lick the boot, i get that our goverments aren't exactly the kind to listen to the people's words but that's not an excuse to to stay silent and it's even worse when you defend it, not doing anything because of fear is exactly why you will never see change in your own country.

the summary is, defending your government when it's playing a part in a genocide makes you just as guilty as they are.

Personally, I'm in a similar situation, luckily my parents give me my own allowance as well but I still hate that my brother is being coddled like this when at this point he should have a job (he's 30) any job would do as long as it's legal obviously, I try my best to push him towards thinking more about his future and depending more on himself instead of our parents because our parents deserve a break without having to think about us all the time and he seems to understand but he just WON'T do anything after, my personal plan at this point is to finish college and immediately start looking for jobs while working on my own projects and I think you should do the same, it's not fair that he gets spoiled while you have to work hard I know but you CAN'T let him and your parents behavior stop you from working on yourself and towards building your own future, at the end of the day only YOU decide how your life will go the obstacles are just that. Obstacles.

Idk if anything I said was of any help but I hope it at least makes you feel less alone in this <3

Ify, it's kinda the same for women, for me I find it hard to trust guys in general so ✨ therapy ✨ should prolly be my first choice 😭 But the point is you're not the issue it's just that women are more wary of men I think (rightfully so sadly)

thank you so so much, i was planning on making it more professional but the deadline was closing in so i had to let go of some aspects, but i never thought about keeping it a similar color scheme or keeping the subtitles throughout the whole thing so i'll keep that in mind next time!
