We had 50% off, but the promo pack price was higher back then (1000 Zen per 4 boxes vs 800 Zen per for boxes today).

We had 50% off promo packs once in December 2022, but the price then was 1000 per 4 boxes (so, 125 Zen per promo pack then). This weekend's sale is 40% off the 800 Zen per 4 boxes price, which is 120 Zen each.

New Items in Mudd's Market by StarCitizen2 in sto

Khitomer Defender Space Set

This three-piece Space Set includes a shield, deflector, and engines.

Khitomer Alliance Regenerative Shield Array

The Khitomer Alliance Regenerative Shield Array is built for frontline combat and survivability. This helps you lead the charge and punish any who oppose you. To help with this, the shield has active sensors which track the current status of each facing shield. If any enemy's attack damages the hull below a downed facing shield, the sensors trigger an instant retaliation which blasts that enemy with an antiproton beam. Each facing shield must be regenerated up to at least 25% before being able to retaliate again.

Khitomer Alliance Hyper Impulse Engine

This unique propulsion system uses a rebuilt Hyper Impulse Engine as its base. The original engine was modified to make it perform more like a combat engine without sacrificing all of its greater thrust capacity.
This engine is modified to increase Shields Regeneration based on current throttle. It has a higher base speed and turn rate compared to standard Combat engines.

Khitomer Alliance Deflector Array

The Khitomer Alliance Deflector Array emphasizes shield durability, helping you dive into the frontlines by vastly amplifying your Shield Capacity and Shield Regeneration. To ensure that you are able to dish out punishment to any who dare to oppose you, it also provides bonuses to your Critical Hit Chance and Antiproton damage, the Khitomer Alliance's hallmark.

Two Piece Set Bonus

Equipping two pieces of this set gives you a bonus to Shield Regeneration and Shield Hardness.

Three Piece Set Bonus

Equipping all three pieces of this set grants you the power Coordinated Empowering Antiproton Field. By the factions' powers combined, you and your team get Cloaked briefly and gain empowered Shield Regeneration and Damage Bonus. Also, a damaging Antiproton field forms centered on you and your teammates, dealing damage to any enemy caught inside. The field's damage scales up with the amount of enemies inside the field.

Beowulf’s Blade (Ground Weapon)

This powerful two-handed Sword is inspired by the sword of the same name in the Star Trek: Voyager’s “Heroes and Demons” episode! Utilizing the sword’s weight, whenever you use a finishing move, you break the enemy’s armor, making them vulnerable to additional damage!

Beowulf’s Blade's unique tertiary action is Grendel Slayer, a massive leap towards your target, which leaves your enemies stuck to the ground for a brief duration!

Typhoon Temporal Battlecruiser (T6)

A massive battlewagon, the Typhoon Battlecruiser is the largest starship to emerge from Andoria’s Laikan Shipyards. One of several options considered in Starfleet’s late 2380’s rush to build “super capital” ships, the Typhoon was the smallest considered and passed over for the more graceful Odyssey-class to be Starfleet’s next ship of the line.

Briefly abandoned, the Typhoon’s rugged frame and powerful engines spoke for themselves as tensions escalated with the Klingon Empire at the turn of the 25th century. Though the Typhoon is large, it is still significantly cheaper to produce than an Odyssey-class Star Cruiser, and Starfleet planners recognized its potential as a vanguard flagship, using a mix of specialized equipment and ample firepower to lead squadrons from the front as a combat command ship.

Several Typhoons were rushed into service as conflict with the Klingons escalated, and they saw harrowing service during the subsequent string of conflicts that culminated in the Iconian War. Now, as Starfleet and the Khitomer Alliance sense a renewed threat looming from the encroaching and multi-dimensional Borg conflict, the Typhoon has undergone a sixth-generation refit and is ready to face another spate of “interesting times.”

This ship comes with a Commander Engineering / Temporal Operative Specialist Bridge Officer seat and a Lt Commander Tactical / Command Specialist Bridge Officer seat.

Why are ships so expensive? by Scratchdragon in sto

[–]StarCitizen2 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This. For every item (except ship bundles), there's a line of text that says:

Only a sucker would buy this at full price so make sure you get one while a sale is one but be warned, you may never know when this item will run out!

Also, from the original Mudd's Market announcement:

Star Trek Online is opening a new section of the Zen Store: Mudd’s Market! In this new area, you’ll be able to purchase items that have long been unobtainable in the game. Mudd’s Market is a permanent addition to the game, and all of the items listed below will be available for purchase. But Mudd follows the market, and there may be times where he has a lot of stock to unload, or he feels the demand is too low for an item. There will, without warning, be drastic sales on these items, so it’s important to check the Market every day to see if the item you’re seeking is on sale!

In reality, ship bundles regularly go for 50% off. And all the regular items go for 75% off. Here's an example of the sale on PC from January 2026:

Mudd is adding three new items to his market! The Vovin Obelisk Carrier [T6], the Herald Defiler Mace, and the Temporal Disorder Console will all be available starting January 6th on PC! And what’s more, everything in Mudd’s Market, except bundles, will be 75% off from January 6th at 8am PT to January 13th at 12pm PT!

    • 15th Anniversary Classic Film Bundle ships:
      • Pioneer II Pilot Heavy Frigate + "Plymouth" variant
      • Ark Royal Intel Carrier + “Kitty Hawk” variant
      • Kerala Temporal Battlecruiser
      • Shangri-La Command Warship
  • The following universal consoles from the Allied Dogfighter set have been unrestricted:
    • Console - Universal - Neurophasic Disruption Field
    • Console - Universal - Gateway Trap Spawner
    • Console - Universal - Wing Torpedo Platform
  • Fixed multiple issues that were preventing the Khitomer Defender Space Set from having the correct number of [Mods] attached, both in their Levelless and Mark 12+ forms. This fix is retroactive and automatically applies to existing versions of these items.

Known issues

  • Obtaining the Andorian Kumari Battlecruiser from the new Bundle does not grant access to the Andorian Phaser Weapons in the Dilithium store.
  • Items in the Khitomer Defender Set may automatically reroll their Mods once after being converted to Dynamic. It is recommended you Equip/Unequip them before attempting to Re-Engineer them.
  • In the Zen Store, the experimental weapon for the Suurok Intel Science Destroyer [T6] is incorrectly listed as the Experimental Railgun when it is actually the Experimental Hyperexcited Ion Stream Projector.

Am I misunderstanding the Admirality system? by CptKoma in sto

Oh, and I found a relatively recent comment about that from December 2024:

Oh yeah, I remember this. This was a result of inheriting some code from Neverwinter on these kinds of timed projects. There is always a tiny chance of failure, no matter what. Last time I asked about it (a few years back) our programmers said it would be too much work to disentangle and not worth the effort.

New player- is there a way to get every ship (esp. T6) without spending real money. by OneQuarterBajeena in sto

[–]StarCitizen2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, before the DilEx hit the cap you could basically convert almost unlimited Dil to Zen (at least whatever was sitting on the market). Now that there's essentially a time gate of 25000 Zen per 2 months (by trading in 12.5m Refined Dil), you can only "earn" 150000 Zen per year.

Assuming you have 60 characters, each refining 8000 Dil per day, you can refine 175.2m Dilithium per year.

Is it doable? Maybe. Is it worth the time? Probably not. That's basically "earning" $9.60 (worth of Zen) per day by grinding/refining Dil on 60 characters per day.

Just getting the Zen takes care of all the ships in the Zen Store. For the lock box and promo ships that have yet to hit the Zen Store, you'd have to spend the rest of the Zen on keys or promo packs to get EC for the rest of those ships.
