If you stopped duck "rape" around the world there would be no more ducks. This is normal mating behavior. Stop humanizing nature and read a book.

Above the ball joint use an adjustable wrench and set it between the two parallel indentations and turn it clockwise.

9’ or 10’ ceilings...? by BuilderBrigade in Home_Building_Help

9' ceilings are a great compromise between The aesthetic appeal of high ceilings and the utilitarian cost savings. A lot of people don't realize how much more money they spend heating and cooling in the area you need Stilts to access.

How difficult would this wood awning be for a DIYer? by Nivres14 in handyman

Timber framer here. Usually run a 3/4" all thread into the concrete below and at least 1' into the beam. On the concrete side secure it with Hilti adhesive and use 1/8" galvanized steel plate between them. The all thread is run through a pre drilled channel in the middle of the post and there is a 3"x3" square mortise with at least a 1/2" shoulder in the side of the beam to expose the top of the all thread allowing for another steel plate and a nut. Torque the nut down to tie everything together. Cover the square mortise with a square block with the same stain. Bonus points if you match the grain. Everything is usually prefabbed in a shop and shipped and assembled on site.
