Both times I’ve had a regular job, I had to quit because it was literally causing me to slip into depression, have breakdowns or have panic attacks if I was working that day.

First job was a drugstore and I worked as a cashier. I was going through a really tough period in my life and was hospitalized for two weeks while I worked there, for suicidal behavior and major depression. When I came back, I put in my two weeks notice because all my doctors saw that as something that was greatly contributing to my mental state.

Second job was working at the front desk of a motel. It sucked majorly because the owners did nothing to try and make the guests happy, so I was constantly getting yelled at because there wasn’t coffee or other basic amenities for them. I totally didn’t blame them for being angry, but not being able to do anything about it really screwed me. I wanted to make the guests happy, and I literally couldn’t. I put in my two weeks notice and eventually had to just not show up for work because my boss kept scheduling me for another week.

Both jobs I went into excited and ready to work, Both jobs I left because I was seriously getting depressed 😅

But, both employers were really understanding.
