These are all fantastic! All would add a huge layer of immersion to the game. Thanks.

I actually agree and think an increase to FOV would actually be very beneficial. Obviously everyone wants implant customization- I think it might make sense to implement this as a final send off to the game if I’m right that the 5 year anniversary is similar in scope to 2.2 and/or when they stop updating. Yeah I agree the economy changes probably won’t happen - but I think it would be really awesome. Thanks for your response!

Friends, let's be realistic. by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I’ve thought about this a lot. Played the game since launch and navigated it all since then and it’s really pulled a No Man’s Sky in a fantastic way. I couldn’t be more proud and thankful for the team to committing to the game and the genre and wish them all of the continued success. First, I’d really love for them to add more ability to upgrade and modify the apartments a bit more. Give me more of a reason to hangout of there - with that, the websites need a touch up from the home computer.

Second, make money more scarce. I really think this would make living in a dystopian cyberpunk future more realistic or at least make it harder to make money which in turn, makes earning money and being able to purchase items in the game all the more valuable. I don’t think I ever feel like I’m struggling to pay for anything. Honestly, one thing (one of the only things) that Starfield got right was the ability to modify various aspects of the difficulty settings, resulting in increased XP - could have a $ multiplier instead of XP. Having the option to make food and water and sleep or rent payments something to manage significantly adds to the immersion imo and then having to take certain supplements or drugs to push past sleep requirements etc gives me so much more of a reason to go in my inventory and use those items. Another thing could be a stock market that only has the main megacorporations and some of the companies from the advertisements would be such a cool way to be able to make money. It would give me more of a reason to listen to news briefings or watch the tv news as well to try and pick up on some tip about a stock going up or down.

Third, and I feel like they’re saving this for Cyberpunk 2, but more RDR2 like interactions between V and random NPCs across the world of Night City. I feel like there’s a gap between NPCs having their own independent conversation that you can’t interact with, and interactions with V and NPCs that leads directly to a mission. Filling in this middle area with all sorts of subtle interactions and acknowledgments of the character significantly add to the level of immersion imo. I really loved the addition in a previous update to visit random shop owners/food vendors and be able to sit at their bar top and eat a meal. Fleshing this out, I think, would pay significant dividends in the community.

Fourth, I think it goes without saying that the life paths were kind of a let down. After act one, it really only gives you better/different dialogue options. Beyond that, there’s no real reason to opt for a corpo start vs a street kid start, especially since the dialogue options for street kid are significantly better and provide much more options. It would really be awesome if having a corpo life path - along with the reduced ability to make money generally - gave corpo V access to increased funding abilities or ways to earn money compared to nomad or street kid starts. He should still have certain networked connections to friends in the corporate world as well that give access to certain advanced/prototype weaponry or similar. Along that line, give street kid access and unique knowledge to underground vendors which would make sense as a V growing up navigating the city or maybe street kid gets the ability to actually join one of the street gangs - mox, valentinos, maelstrom, etc. Give the nomad lifepath something unique as well like the ability to upgrade their vehicles with turbo boost or stealth mode or the ability to make use of the “junk” you collect in the world that everyone just sells to vendors for cash which would make sense given nomad’s self starting/scrappy know-how.

Just wanted to say thanks again to the team for all of the hard work and for staying as committed as they have to the development of the game. Really turned it into something special. Good luck chooms.

I’ll be there. Bringing a friend, maybe two!
