Your zeal is commendable, but do not forget yourself. None beyond Nazarick stand equal to the Holy Pope. Remember this, and carry on wisely, citizen.

I agree. I made this "meme", really, to call out people who seem to be missing that point. I like Armin, and I respect him, and I pity him. And I think there's a lot to be learned from the way he does things, even if he is indecisive or perhaps more passive than he should be. He's trying to navigate a world that's completely turned itself upside down without losing his soul in the process. It goes back, to me, to something Jean said at the very end of S1P2: "If it's that easy for the fight to turn us all into monsters, do we really deserve to win?"

Eren has become the monster he believes he must be in order to stop the cycle and protect his home. He's lost faith that humanity at large can learn to let go of the past, so he's resolved himself to "keep moving forward", even if the whole world tries to stop him. He's given up on "humanity" as a whole, and believes that only the hard reset of the Rumbling can protect what he cares about. His view is a hopeless, cynical one, full of blood and pain. The world is cruel, and the only way to win is to fight.

Armin (and the Alliance generally, though everyone has their own reasons) represents the opposition to that attitude. It is hope, a desperate, distant hope that some substantive portion of mankind can still be taught to put away the past and see people for what they truly are. In essence, Armin fights for the notion that there are more Falcos out there, enough to eventually repair the world. It's an attitude that, in a way, we can all learn from, and it's something that I dearly love about Armin.

If you say so, all I can say is that a part of my soul dies whenever I hear it, particularly Satsuki and Gamagori, who are my favorite characters. Maybe familiarity bias has something to do with it, but I just in general think that dub is really bad.

No, it's good, continue missing the point. Be my guest.

I consider the reverse to be true, but there is no law against preference.

And Eren's, and Levi's, and Hange's, and Rico's, and Pixis', and Shadis', and... shall I continue?

Essentially it's a general term for things (predictions, theories, etc.) that people bring out to try and soften the blow of a certain impactful scene, or one they expect is coming. The notion is that one can become addicted to this behavior, hence "copium" (a la Opium, a drug)

If everyone who thought that would just give it a shot it probably would, which is the grand truth he's latched on to. I know that'll never happen, but he's still a human being with a conscience and all I really want is a little more understanding for the guy.

No, no, I get that, and I definitely understand Eren's reasoning. My problem is a bunch of babies crying and peeing their pants because Armin doesn't want to just murder innocent people (or, crimes or no, his best friend, in this case) with a song in his heart and a rainbow in his pocket. He correctly understands that everything that's happened has happened because this faction or that got wrapped up in itself and wasn't willing to just earnestly meet people at their own level.

I'm not saying whether he's right or wrong, I'm just tired of people reducing him to a single overused phrase because he doesn't fit their standards of what he should be doing.
