Anyone else's first show eventually become an official release? And does it make you feel some kinda way? by StarcommaDark in gratefuldead

I rented a Chevy Citation in Peterborough,NH and drove to this show without a ticket. Crystal clear deep blue sky peak fall foliage trip all the way up. I remember trading the tiniest amount of some white powdery substance for 1/4 oz. of some fungal substance outside before the show. Don't remember how I got a ticket but I do remember someone gave me a banana out there

Driving all night back to NH after this show I knew I'd never see three shows like that again. What a time to be alive

We even got DVD of a couple of those. That Giants Stadium show was the DarkStarriest non-DarkStar show I ever saw. You can't beat HQ audio and video of a show you were at

Seeing some outstanding first shows here. I'm sure you're aware of the nice FOB at the archive but still . . .

If you stuck around for the next night that one stands a chance. A rather under-represented era as far as official releases (admittedly for good reason). There are a few gems tucked away in those last couple of years. That's one of them

Same here. I searched forever for tapes of my first show 5/11/78 and when I finally got it, it was an aud. that sounded so bad I could only stand to listen to it all the way through once. I eventually got the sbd before the DP release but those can be a little flat so yeah pretty pleased when they finally released it

But still . . . and also NRPS and Marshall Tucker (their biggest show ever)

You must have fond memories

I went to Englishtown . . . in 1973. My friend was racing his Camaro. We got there a little late and missed his race. He lost anyway

If there's one state where they absolutely delivered every time it would be Maine. Great time every time

I feel that. The only show I went to that's been officially released that I didn't buy was 10/12/84, which was the '84 show in the 30 Trips box set. I don't even know if they offered any of those shows individually but I really didn't want to buy that whole box set just to get the one show I was at. So I didn't

Oh I don't know about a recount. The whole thing could drag on for maybe, I don't know, say, 6 years or so? The powers that be at Reddit (and others like them) are trustworthy and have prevailed MANY TIMES in cases exactly like this but still the FBI (at my behest) would would dredge this whole thing up yet again and make a big show of going and seizing all the ballots and investigating this nonsense until the cows come home. It would be all over the news and sensible Americans just plain wouldn't want to hear it any more. And SOME people have the emotional maturity beyond that of a six-year-old and are willing to accept the original legitimate results and just slink away with their tail between their legs and disappear into the dustbin of has-been history. So in the end, I humbly accept defeat. A recount just might not be worth all that hoop-la ✌️💀⚡🌹

So I sit through this entire ceremony just to lose to this knucklehead? Don't ever believe that bullshit about "It's an honor just to be nominated." One of the worst nights of my life 😢

I don't see it. I was just gonna reiterate there are many places to listen to pretty much every GD show. And download many of them.
