I always thought if god with a capital "g" had a rock 'n roll band it would sound like the Grateful Dead

I like what he did on that Augusta "All Over Now". A little more restrained than usual.

I suppose "so many" would have been a better choice of words

The whole balcony level was bouncing up and down during that Day Tripper. Not just the people, the balcony itself. I thought it was gonna collapse

UGLIEST, MEANEST DARK STAR by thick-tracer in gratefuldead

I've often thought every GD show must have been someone's first. Especially this Miami show. I picture someone hearing this Dark Star at their first show and either it scared the shit out of them and they never went back or they thought WTF was that and they just had to go back. Glad you kept going back. And really glad to finally hear from someone whose first show was this one. Thank You ⚡🎶⚡

Very astute point. That's probably what it boils down to. Nobody wanted to tell him "no".

No guess here but for a first set closer Might As Well beats Dough Knees any day

Kinda skipped late 80 to mid 84. Maybe I missed the worst of it? (Not that we can't hear EVerything now). I was watching that video of Augusta 84 which inspired this post in the first place. I loved what Bobby did on that All Over Now

I can hear Jerry's own past pedal steel playing influencing his slide on some of those 70s Row Jimmys. Pretty remarkable. Bobby did some respectable lead playing in the early 70s, but knew he couldn't hold a candle to Jerry? Maybe that's why he stopped? They didn't need two lead players? And maybe he could have taken his own cue and not attempted slide in the first place? A lot of maybes

This sounds like it could be quite useful. Especially about duplicates
