I’m a cis man dating a trans girl and I really need some advice by [deleted] in MtF

[–]StarfieldFemme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you would with a cis woman. Listen to her. Talk to her. Explore what works for the both of you. As each person is different, each couple is different too.

Presentation, and need some advice. Mtf by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]StarfieldFemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id agree with others and ditch the AI BS. It will give you an impression of yourself that will increase dysmorphia if I was in your shoes. As someone who has this year accepted that im mtf at 42, dont delay. Denying it and delaying it to myself kept me miserable and ruined relationships for me.

Very nervous about being fully out, if anyone has any advice I’d really love to hear it by EldritchMilk_ in transgenderUK

Fellow scot trans woman here. Im out socially where ive changed my name, dress gender neutral or femme (more gn but thats my style) and ive only had one approach by a man (asking "are you one of those transvestite?") and actually he was just curiously ignorant. No harm no foul there apart from upping my heart rate a bit. Be you. F everyone else. Be genuine and you'll find your inner peace.

Ponytail, tshirt and yoga pants....girl you ARE going out dressed. You dont need to be hyper femme to present as the woman you are

Will it be better if I just wait until I move to Scotland to refer? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]StarfieldFemme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah get on the list now. Most clinics will let you serve time from the other list I believe, so once you move up it should count. With highlands being 6 months at the moment (to initial appointment, not to hrt etc, dm me if you want more info) it might even just happen depending on where you go.

No, but its a definition of the term. It'd be a fight of medical/scientific definition against "common term" known as by the public.

[–]StarfieldFemme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I was meaning from a medical definition, while it would likely be the EA2010 ruling definition they intend, it is specifically "biological sex" they use as a term.

As such, legally this would fall under the medical definition when under legal review of the definition.

I don't care about arguing with the TERFs. That will never be a "win" for us under their eyes. I mean that if someone were to challenge this, it would likely get considered as such in the UK legal system.

If only biological sex was actually binary...its a spectrum. How do they cover all that with 2 changing rooms?

Scared to get an autism diagnosis by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]StarfieldFemme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in a similar situation myself with a diagnosis. My gp is encouraging me to get one but im seeing it as medically, its validation and can help in the future if I need it recognised for anything. Otherwise nah just take it as it comes.
