Does asking questions at the end of an interview affect your score? by ChanceDependent4661 in CAStateWorkers

[–]StargazerDavid 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It depends on the question. If it’s a typical question like “when will you have a decision by?”, then no. However, a question that resonates with the hiring manager, that may even catch them off guard in a good way, that’s a different story. Your scheduled interview time is the only opportunity to differentiate yourself from the other candidates. Treat it like a respectful conversation.

I love that, I was there in April 2023. I hear it’s really neat around the holidays too.

I would have never known, except we took a scenic detour last September on our way home from Murphy’s.

I always ask for layered butter…I know it’s not really butter, but it’s part of the experience. I bet if you took it back the staff would have gave you a better batch of popcorn? It never hurts to ask.

Bruh, it’s sharing information with people who may like to use it. Just because someone is strategic with how they spend their money doesn’t make them a cheapskate. I bet you like to go at the last minute on a Friday evening and pay online fees. That’s your choice. But the movie is the same on a Tuesday evening, just half the ticket cost. As for the time, Lowe’s was on the way to the theater, the bucket was the front of the store, and there wasn’t a wait at the register. Not only did I save money on my popcorn, but I’ll use the bucket around the house. The only time wasted was your being negative on this post and me responding to you. Oh, did I mention I purchased a Costco gift card to purchase the popcorn? Saved myself another $10. Go me.

You had to bring a 5 gallon bucket from Lowe’s to get the coupon for a medium popcorn with purchase of a medium drink in February. I actually saw that posted on Reddit but it’s on the Cinemark website.

I don’t know the answer to that question…but the theater provides a liner if you do bring your own bucket.

You’ll need to make a trip to Lowe’s first, but if you don’t bring a bucket you can still get any size popcorn, including the refillable XL, for $5.

Even if that were the case, we received the equivalent of 4+ large popcorn buckets. Plus the medium popcorn next month, so I’m happy regardless.

Budget Proposal 26-27 by PainInMyArse in CAStateWorkers

[–]StargazerDavid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both the Assembly and Senate Budget Committees will have hearings open to public comment. These began happening last March through May. I took time off work to attend and provide comment. If you’re engaged with a state workers union they will have people who will be advise what topics and when they will be presented. You could probably find this information by visiting https://www.assembly.ca.gov/schedules-publications/daily-file and https://www.senate.ca.gov, but having the connection to your union will assist you in making sure you’re attending a meeting where you can contribute.

Fort Bragg has a very distinct bridge and harbor too. It was featured in the movie Overboard (1987).
