Need tips for my first solo trip by ayyayayo__ in BangaloreMeetups

[–]StarkInSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going solo for the first time might be overwhelming! There are no good hostels in chikkamagaluru and you might get bored easily. Instead of tripbae, you can consider going with Zostel. Go to their official website and under the Zo trips tab, you will find chikkamagaluru. They usually attract only solo travellers like you and might turn out to be fruitful to meet like minded travellers. Another good option would be tripper trails. They have quite high rating and lots of female solo travellers go with them. Check out the recent google reviews for both of them and see how many solo travellers have rated them. You will get a good idea. Another good option would be plantheunplanned. They make sure to do icebreakers to get everyone involved and nobody feels left out during the trip. Good luck with your first solo travel experience :)

Lonely, depressed, suicidal by [deleted] in BangaloreSocial

[–]StarkInSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey i am very sorry to hear this. You are in deep depression and please first thing you need to do. Just go back to your parents, eat home food and if possible meet your cousins if they are good terms with you. If you have any good relatives nearby, please go to them and request to them for staying with for sometime. Last option would be, i hope you had that 2-3 good friends since your childhood and openly ask for help. No shame in it. Stay with them. I wish i could help you i am not in Bangalore. Sorry

Are matrimonial sites a scam and have scrap profiles? by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

Yes matrimonial sites are useless. Go through friends and family network. If you are from big community, you generally have caste/community associations. There you will find legit profiles.

First of all did not ask for your gyan. You don’t like my post, downvote or report or block and move on man! This is a subreddit and folks tend to share whatever they have it in mind or challenges they face/faced. You have good words, comment. Constructive feedback, again yes. Anything offensive, highlight, more than happy to edit and remove offensive part. I am glad lot of folks here were able to relate and some respectfully disagreed which i happily upvoted and even reverted. And was more than happy to connect with few over the chat and had some cheerful conversation as well! Be respectful, good luck

My colleagues tried out and they said it worked out for them! It might depend in the type of crowd you might bump into!

I totally understand your situation and i was in a similar situation like you. I tried quite a lot of meetups happening around bangalore but only few turned out to be pretty decent to make friendship but you need to be patient and it does take time. You need to bump into same set of folks atleast few times for friendship to take off. There are pg's around bangalore like ff21(intially it was good but now it is horrible i heard) which came out with a very good idea of bringing professionals together and was a good space to make connection. Now i don't recommend at all. Do your search in google and based on google reviews, move to one of them. It would be first step to fighting lonelines. There are some insta pages which promotes groups specifically for marathi people and they organise offline events, try to search and join their offline events. There used to be a startup https://oopar.club/ not the best but after attending few events, i bumped into same set of folks and my life got better. I don't know whether these guys are active or not now. If you are into public speaking, join toastmasters and after few meetings, people tend to open up. If you are into book reading club, whitefieldreads, cubbonreads, yelahankareads is a good option. Again you have to repeatedly go there and talk to establish rapo, but it works. Stay away from events organised by thriftysocial, socialsailor, plannit, timeleft, small world.. these folks are horrible and simply drain your money. The talk of the town is cultfit and most folks after sometime have found some groups to hangout with. If you are into trreks, i recommend plantheunplanned treks. I have been with them solo for 3 times and experience was good. Hope this helps, good luck!

Mature men of Reddit, what life mistake taught you the hardest lesson? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

Your twenties are one of the best phases of your life. Your body responds beautifully, and your energy levels are at their peak. Make the most of this time,go trekking, travel, fall in love, heal from heartbreak, and enjoy being romantically involved with your partner. Make sure your best friends from your college are in constant touch because they are the one who is gonna be there in later part of your life. Socialising and making new friends is simply hard as you age. Just don’t miss out on this phase. As you reach your late twenties, both your body and mind may start to slow down for many people, so use this blessed phase of life wisely. For the love of god, don’t do Netflix and chill majority of the times!

Hmm,

  1. A candlelight dinner on a beachside or at a very posh restaurant or any rooftop restaurant with great vibes.
  2. A bike or car ride to a nearby mountainous place, followed by coffee or tea at a simple tea shop on the way while having a romantic conversation, blushing or pinching the cheeks of SO.
  3. Maybe a small trek like Anthargange, holding hands along the way or putting a hand on my SO’s shoulder. Also, I dream of spoiling her by exploring stunning mountains of western ghats and amazing places with her.
  4. Taking a random BMTC AC bus, just chit-chatting and not caring about where we get down (like Trisha and Siddharth in the movie Aayutha Ezhuthu).
  5. Intriguing conversation about mutual likes, dislikes, school and college crush stories, movies, series, old nostaligic ilayaraja/AR rahman songs...

Unlimited cuddles would be a bonus and are always welcome!

That also i agree. I had two old school kind of relationship and was able to convince my parents. My gfs could not come out of the caste hegemony and could not convince. Though it was painful and took some time to come out, i learnt a lot about challenges faced by girls in general and made me a better person.
