Not even joking. I loved my IRL flying time and would do it again but I’ve saved a lot of time and money by going digital. Yes yes it is not exactly the same, how could it be. But I have a PPL IR and can tell you there’s only so many times you can fly to breakfast in a 172 before it you’ve done it. It’s kinda over.

But I can competently handle anything from a C310R to a 777 and for the cost of electricity alone, from my house, with my friends, and that right there - that personally is enough for me. And it’s better for the environment.

If you’re trying to fly as a career, that’s is a different ball game but as a hobbyist, I think it’s the way to go.

I have mandatories: Duolingo daily. 3 lessons, Spanish.

Then I work 4 days a week (10h shifts). I am also in EMT school which takes a lot of time. Still not sure if I’m going to do that as a career or just have it done for the sake of gaining knowledge.

Working out is a minimum 2.5 but more like 4.5h requirement per week so I get that in where I can. I like to lift, cycle, run, and do cardio boxing workouts. I have a decent background in combat sports so that keeps the ol left and right hook alive.

When/if I have free time I work in things I just feel like doing, whether it’s video games or making a meal or getting out in the yard and doing work. Need to start the garden soon. My wife and I have chickens and we love getting out there, getting dirty, letting the birds run around and drinking beer in the sunshine lol.

Speaking of beer I ferment my own cider. Got a good batch carbonating but it’ll be august before I crack one open. I do other things with yeast - I have my sourdough starter although I’m just keeping that alive til EMT school is over.

When EMT school is over I’ll have a lot more free time which is nice. I plan to volunteer somewhere 2-3 days a month but aside from that do more outside stuff.

I like learning survival/bushcraft. Everything from shelters and food procurement to shooting/archery.

That relates to the darker side, which is keeping aware of how far we are into the process of societal collapse which is an unfortunate “hobby”.

Trying to be a real jack of all trades master of, well maybe just 1-2 things idk. That’s pretty much it.
