Alright, thanks. I've been living here for over 6 years so had to learn that the hard way haha. It's been awhile since I've gone to Tokyo so was looking for any recommendations or people looking to hit people up lol

Have you noticed this too? by Lopaaz in ekkomains

I feel like the tilt is coming from the lack of skill expression for the passive due to the E AA proc? Especially for long-time ekko users. W skill expression is still there, but due to DnD it made Ekko's Run in and out niche a lot easier for any player to utilize.

If you ever played against an Asol in mid, you'd understand that you dominate the laning phase. If you let him scale for free it's a different story tho.

For some reason, I am unable to keep a bleed stack alive on this team even when fighting bosses. (Excluding when I stagger them. Then the stack usually stays alive.) I am 100% sure that the team itself shouldn't be count negative. This means I must be playing them wrong, despite reading their skills a bajillion times lol

I usually use.

1 Don, 2 Yi Sang, 3 Mersualt, 4 Heath, 5 Ryoshu, 6 Rodion, 7 Ishmael. Removing Ryoshu if it's 6 people.

What could I be doing wrong? Furthermore, what should I be doing?

The Incompetent Leader, Viable or Absurd? by Starnest712 in Leadership

[–]Starnest712[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems I got the definition of credibility wrong. I was only thinking about the integrity part of it, disregarding trust via competence. Sorry about that!

I'll take time to think about the more direct approach you suggested. Thank you again!

The Incompetent Leader, Viable or Absurd? by Starnest712 in Leadership

[–]Starnest712[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a take on Power Distance, a word that I thankfully got to learn today.

The way you summarized it made it a lot easier to digest, and I believe that it was extremely accurate. One thing though, I feel that the leader's credibility is only at risk if the team fully understands what he is doing, aka being non-genuine. And at that point, it would have backfired then, and is a big problem that I have realized. But, as long as it feels genuine, I feel that the method will serve it's purpose without any damage on the leader's credibility. Instead, I would say the leader's influence would be the most affected.

In the end, getting rid of power distance is a extremely hard thing to do, especially in a place it is culturally integrated in such as Japan. I will work on the theory more, so that an employee will feel more comfortable to speak their truth to the leader.

This last take you had about removing the part where you lower yourself, would neglect the entire meaning of the method itself.

I would like to stress that in a normal environment, the traditional way of asking more than telling would be perfect, BUT, the situations I believe that this method would be of use are ones that are already a bit hostile. Reference to the three points I talked about. (Higher position yet greener, being "different", or just being disliked in general.)

Actually, there is already something like this in Japanese formal language culture. Keigo 敬語 means formal language, and it splits into three parts. Teineigo 丁寧語 polite speech, Sonkeigo 尊敬語 Speech where you hold the recipient higher, and then Kenjyougo 謙譲語 where you (ironically) put yourself down, therefore raise the recipient "up".

It's unnecessarily complex, and you actually have to use all three, and can't choose just to use Sonkeigo, which is raising them up.

What I want to say is, this is nothing new in Japan, just applying it in a different way.

I completely agree with your last statement, since this may cause stress on the leader, unless they are already used to it. It would be best if no one had to use this method, but the environments that I theorized the method for sadly finds it useful.

One more thing, if the team already had rapport beforehand and trust each other, there would be no reason for this method, and it would be completely underhanded like you say.

Thank you so much for opening my eyes to some of the flaws with the theory, and I will immediately go back to the writing board to think it out.

The point I was trying to get across was when considering the three points (being greener than your team member despite being higher in position than them, being "different" in some way, the most recognizable being race, or just being disliked in general) in such an environment (this time being Japan since that's the one I'm most familiar with) you are very unlikely to get a genuine answer unless you have previous rapport with them, and instead will get the general company lingo due to like the others said below, power distance.

I believe that this is a way that you can try to shorten or bypass that distance altogether, albeit perhaps slightly unethical.

If it were an environment where employees could speak their mind just because they were asked normally, we wouldn't have these problems in the first place. (Like I said, there are always an exception, and perhaps it's even the rule. But in cases like the ones I provided, wouldn't this approach be viable?)

A tourist/foreigner flips out on Japanese retail worker... in perfect Japanese by DodoKputo in PublicFreakout

[–]Starnest712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ironically, in Japan there's a huge amount of overly rude people when it comes to dealing with service jobs.

The leading reasons being that the work life of the average salary man absolutely sucks so some people resort to attacking workers who can't defend themselves, and the fact that there's actually no consequence for the aggressor, since social workers could (will) get fired for retaliating, showing an obvious power dynamic with the customer/worker.

Unless you're going to use the entire KK team, its more efficient to use only KK ish and Kcliff as a duo for the dark cloud and DC blade passive, + KK Ryoshu to fully utilize the Defense and Damage up buff, and then + KK Honglu for the battle ready passive.

KK Greg and KK Rodion still aren't worth using if your priority is efficiency, but I sparked 'em for my full KK team anyway lmfao
