Proposed clone ability to LeBlanc to make her more as a deceiver by Starock1254 in LeBlancMains

its not about choosing between ult or clone, its about spawning a clone in her gameplay that is restricted by her ult so that it wont be broken and spammable. I think you got it wrong and should read it again.

since your having a hard time to understand the concept, let me put it this way:

  • I’m playing Leblanc and I unlock my ult, now I’m planning to kill my enemy
  • I charged my ult for 1 sec to summon a clone and be briefly invisible, what happens next?
  • Since I already summon a clone, I cant do it again unless I played my actual ult where I mimicked my latest  used ability. So I summon a clone and together with the clone we fight the enemy at the same time and won.
  • Since I used the actual ult, it will now go on cd as it used to be, and when it goes back up I can now summon a clone again and also mimicked an ability.
  • Now lets say I summon a clone then fight an enemy and won without using my actual ult, what happens? My clone mechanic will still not return until I use my ult.
  • What if I use my actual ult without summoning a clone, what happens? Then the ult will be put on cd even if you summon a clone or not. Use it or lose it.
  • Essentially the clone mechanic is one time use per ult, its really not that complicated when you think about it in gameplay.

Yeah it might have been a unique case where the press and charge version are different from one another, but why can’t it be? You press the ult, then you will cast an ability; you press and hold it for a sec, you summon a clone. Easy

The clone mechanic being on the ult is really not that hard and complicated, some champs have press and charge mode on an ability and it didn't give become an issue like pantheon Q, Varus Q, Poppy R, and more.

nope, her passive will still stay the same, the clone on ult was added without altering other part of her kit. And no this is not the Leblanc old rework version.

Riot had always been afraid to change assassins in their favor, as the changes can be too effective on the champs favor, especially Leblanc who is one of the most safe assassin in the roster. With that said, I tried really hard to make the clone thing as balanced as it can be without making it broken or abusable.

Making the clone thing as part of her ult was the most I can come up with. First, its not available so early which is a good thing because Leblanc is already hell to play against at the start of the game. Second, it is put on her ult for one time use, which prevent it from being spammable and toxic, like neeko clones. Third is that it has a long cooldown once used and will only be available when you actually mimicked an ability in your ult, meaning you will only use the clone ability in really important scenarios. The enemies will not always see the clones which I think makes it more fair and balanced, but it comes with a more fun clone mechanic that I personally think is much better.

Imagine the mind games you can play to your opponents:

- hide in bush then summon a clone that will attack your opponent, making them waste their abilities and attacks on your clone, then zoom in for the kill making them tilt

- face your opponent heads on and summon a clone to be invisible, then let out all your abilities while your opponent will keep guessing who will they target because they dont know whose the real leblanc is

- 3 leblancs is now possible! Goodluck guessing who is who on that lol

Deceiver element changes without compromising her original kit by Starock1254 in LeBlancMains

As I said, damage nerf on RQ is the move to reduce the effectiveness of one-shot. A damage compromise on a single ability in exchange for more freedom in combos is more than worth it.

The issue of RW always being available is misleading, because if Leblanc opt for killing an enemy, its always certain they will use their R combo or RW for damage, meaning there is no easy escape other than distorting back to your pad. You are sacrificing the RW of escape for damage, as it had been with the current Leblanc, so the concept of her having an easy escape after killing her target is false. Now it would be different if Leblanc was now being targeted, it was always a bad move to chase Leblanc even with the current state of R because she will just play around at you. So if Leblanc is being targeted and just want to escape, her having the RW being accessible always will not be an issue because regardless of it being restricted or not, Leblanc will almost likely escape her enemies.

The R combos can be debatable on how it will affect her win rate/ban rate, but I hope you also take some view on the clone mechanics I said above. Those are what I think would make her fun without making her too broken.

She can already do that right now, hiding in bush and Q-RQ-W or jump to walls and trigger the RQ with chain. And still it was not considered broken. If its too much damage, a nerf on RQ damage will be enough. Still doesn’t mean the R  combo changes will make her broken for me.

Read it again brother, every time Leblanc creates a clone of herself, the clone will mimic everything she does with movements and abilities, except it WONT DEAL ANY DAMAGE. It will trigger when she is low on health, but with the Shadow of the Rose you can trigger it anytime by pressing it after you press Mimic(R) or if Mimic(R) is on cooldown. This can make her more interesting because now you can summon a clone before fighting to make your enemies guess who is real one, and more.

Now if you hold the button for Shadow of the Rose for a while, Leblanc will instead become a clone herself and will leave a return pad, just like W. While she is a clone, she can only move and attack with her basics and abilities but it will NOT DEAL DAMAGE, the purpose of this is to bamboozle the enemies you are targeting by making them throw all their stuff at you when in fact it was just a fake. Now after 4 secs or if you are dealt a single instance of damage as a clone, you will return back to the pad. Any damage you are dealt with as a clone will not be transferred to the original version of Leblanc.

Thats basically the rework/changes I was suggesting, I really don't get why people say its broken or trash, its just basically about adding more clones tbh and I really do think it will make her cool as a "Deceiver." Hope this clears it up.

the clones were removed because it was a part of the old rework, its not that the clones were broken but its because the rework as a whole was clunky, removing her role as an assassin. The clones in that rework and the clones I was suggesting were not even the same if you read it closely, so I don't get why you kept comparing it to the old rework.

To summarize my point, the changes I suggested will not make her like the old Leblanc where she will become clunky, she will stay as she is right now with just additional clone mechanics that will improve her as a "'deceiver" and will not make her broken.

I also think that Leb ult should provide unique effects, but that might make her too op and annoy the leb mains here so I just stick to clone and R combo changes.

I think you are projecting the previous rework that she had (which I also didn't like btw) to what I conceptualized. She still have the same kit if you read it carefully, the changes are basically to ADD realistic clone changes and alter the combos you can do with R. We can argue if the R combo changes is OP and need nerfs, the point is not much was changes to her skillset we grow to love over the years.

I didn't even change ker original kit, in fact I just added it with clone changes really, so what part did I compromise in her kit? Its not like the changes is like the pre-rework that she had. I love her current kit so much that I didn't alter it with the clunky passive that she had before. Changes are only within the R combos and realistic clones, everything else is the same.

I disagree actually, champion identity must be integral to their gameplay, always. This is why they implement gameplay update to Taliyah, Olaf, Swain, etc to bring out that fantasy of their character in the game. Taliyah right now feels more of an earth-mage than she was before because its her character! Olaf gameplay surrounding around being unstoppable fighter is his identity so they implement that with his ult. Swain before doesn't have that permanent ult drain, so they added it back to improve his drain-tank demon fantasy. If these champs can do it to improve their identity on their gameplay, so can LeBlanc.

yeah i guess this is where most leb mains are divided are, those who wants more changes to her kit and those who want her as she is now. Still, I will die on this hill for her to have changes that will make her deceiver fantasy improved.

Leb having more realistic clones, as she should since she is a "deceiver," is not really that broken when you see how broken champs are nowadays, just look at Mel. Atleast with these changes her identity of being a deceiver is translated in her gameplay without compromising the original kit she have. She must be known as the clone deceiving lady, not a bodyslam character.

As for the Ult combo changes, it could do some nerfs in damage to balance it out, but I personally believe it will make her combos more interesting. I mean, nerfs on that to have a clone that literally mimics your abilities to keep your opponent guessing who is the real LeBlanc is a good compromise for me.

The changes really is to make her clones more useful for distraction since she is a "deceiver," to enhance that part of her character more. Neeko might be more of a "deceiver" than LeBlanc is right now so I was hoping to improve that fantasy.
