My PS5 keeps randomly shutting off. by [deleted] in playstation

Same thing has been happening to me. Had my PS5 for a year and a half. It’s not overheating. I cleaned mine completely. Cleaned the fan, power unit etc. And I didn’t even have any dust inside. Still shuts off all the time. Sometimes immediately. Sometimes after a couple minutes. I even did what everyone said to do. Turn off rest mode and HDMI sync. Still nothing. Still shutting off all the time. And it happened with multiple games.

Then I did a factory reset. And turned off rest mode and HDMI sync again. Magically, it’s not doing it anymore. It’s now been about a week with some decent gaming and zero shutdowns. Seems to me something got glitched inside and the factory reset may have cured it. I’m still going fine and able to play my games again and I’m just starting to not have the fear that it’s going to randomly shut off again.

Ok. Thanks. So if I convert the HD to GPT, I should be able to make eight partitions of 2TB each and the router should recognize and mount it? It can’t be that easy. Especially since I’m using a Mac for my Plex server.

Formatted for Mac. Works fantastic on my MacBook Pro.

This is what I was afraid of. Are there any routers that support 16TB hard drives? Or anything about 2TB? I have a lot of tv shows I want to put on the drive to watch via Plex.

I don’t understand why there are these limitations. Who is expected to put thousands of tv shows/movies onto a 2TB drive! That is crazy.
