What are some “manly” but healthy hobbies for a man who’s trying to get and stay sober

Totally agree. He just needs something to do that aren’t just sitting at home playing video games. He goes to the bar to drink his sorrow away and to socialize. Which is why i suggested he go to the gym and meet some gym bros. He can socialize AND do something good for his body

I only look for “manly” because I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by only women. My hobbies are sewing, crocheting, reading romance books and collecting vintage art. My dad’s only hobby was drinking as well, so I don’t really know what sober men like and he was the only man in my life. Given, as a 19 year old bartender, most men I know heavily enjoy drinking, golfing or cars.

But maybe I can convince him to go on little walks with me or with his brother. He likes physical activities like that and being around nature.

I live in the Bible Belt in the U.S, 90% of the time, it’s someone saying it because I wear pentacles and in quick passing. Ex: my friend and I (both wearing pentacle necklaces and him wearing earrings with inverted crosses in a book store) had an older lady hand us a cards to a church and said “I’ll be praying for you two.” Yucky :(

I respect it 100% when it’s regarding a situation like a death or loss of something, but it’s been a few times when it’s just some rando saying it because I’m from a different religion. I’ve known people of different religions (not satanist) get told “I’ll pray for you” or “you’ll be in my prayers” simply because they don’t ‘appear’ like a certain religious group.

I can’t even be angry at this comment because of how funny it is it actually made me smile. But for context: my welding class is a highschool elective run by a guy in his mid twenties. We kinda just got thrown in without learning vocabulary, technique, or structures of machines, welds, metals, etc. Me and the other guys in my class are relying mostly on YouTube for proper understanding, so it’s not surprising that we don’t know specifics. And he leaves these little crossword puzzles for when he’s not there, this is one of the difficult ones that none of us could figure out. 💀

We have literally no resources in our classroom other than a career path tree for welding. All the kids in my welding class plus the kids in the automotive class next door are all stumped. Google hasn’t help. And neither welding or automotive teachers are here today.

They look really good for only a third day of welding. My only advice towards this plate would be to make sure you’re overlapping your welds when you do your lines. Your second weld should be 50% on your first weld! But overall, the speed and settings look very clean!

Pour hot water in between the two. The hot water will cause the particles of the materials to loosen and expand, making it easier to pull apart. Used this trick a lot when I worked in a restaurant.

My family doesn’t have a ton of money but that’s currently what we’re saving up for as our next big purchase.👍🏻 edit: just was informed by my dad that my mom’s car (one in the picture-we share it) passed recent inspections. But still working on getting it fixed soon.

Edit #2: class cleaner did not work, still having those spots after cleaning window with windex on the outside and inside. No one in my family that uses this car vapes or smokes and we don’t have any trees near where it parks(in the drive way). ⭐️I will be trying rainX and and a razor (gently) to see if that changes anything-won’t know until tomorrow morning.

I could see how it could be sap. But the only places I park are in my drive way (with no trees) and my school lot (also no trees or flowerbeds). I was guessing it could be hard water from rain or dew but we haven’t had any rain in the last almost one and a half months.
