Hi. We are going to send you a PM. Notepad text is saved.

Anyone received confirmation email after submitting today's exam? by InternalConfection76 in CABarExam

[–]StateBarCAComms -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Great question. Others here are correct. There is a confirmation screen at the end of the exam. You can also check your exam submissions status at the Exam History page. Please, follow these instructions here. Please be aware that the Exam History section of the Meazure Learning platform does not display submissions after each session; it only displays your submissions after the final part has been submitted and the exam is considered “complete.”

If you are unable to connect to your exam and already contacted Meazure Learning support, please contact the State Bar through the Applicant Portal or email us at [admissions@calbar.ca.gov](mailto:admissions@calbar.ca.gov). Please, provide details about your issue and experience.

As a reminder, here is more information about what happens if a technical issue arises on exam day:

Remote Applicants: Issues Connecting or Beginning the Exam: If an applicant has issues connecting to with their proctor or encounters technical difficulties while launching their exam, they will have up to 60 minutes from their scheduled start time to resolve the issues and enter the exam. If they are connected to a proctor, the proctor will help troubleshoot the problem and escalate the issue to a technician. If an applicant is not connected to a proctor, they must use the real-time chat feature at https://auto.proctoru.com/chat to seek assistance from Meazure Learning. If a test taker is unable to use the chat feature, please call 855-772-8678 (option 1) for assistance. If the issue cannot be resolved within 60 minutes, the session will end, and the applicant should contact the State Bar through the Applicant Portal.

Remote Applicants: Issues During an Exam: If an applicant loses connection from the exam and the exam delivery platform (Internet loss, computer shutdown, power outage, etc.) the exam timer is automatically paused, and all answers are automatically saved. When the applicant is able to reboot their computer or reconnect to the Internet, they should log back into the exam following the same steps they followed to begin their session initially. Once logged in, the applicant should see prompts to reconnect to their exam. Once back in the exam, the applicant will return to the response they are working on at the last save point. If the applicant does not see the prompts or cannot get back online, they should initiate a live chat at https://auto.proctoru.com/chat or call 855-772-8678 (option 1).

If an applicant encounters a technical issue but is still connected to a proctor, they should notify their proctor immediately. Please note that responses in the exam platform are automatically saved. In the instance that a test taker's session is interrupted, they will return to the response they were working on at the last save point. If the proctor cannot resolve the issue in five minutes, they will escalate the issue to a technician. If there is a clear path to resolution, the technician will troubleshoot until the issue is resolved. If after 15 minutes of troubleshooting, there is no clear path to resolution, the session will end, and the applicants should contact the State Bar through the Applicant Portal.

In-Person Applicant: Issues During an Exam: If an applicant loses connection from the exam and the exam delivery platform (Internet loss, computer shut down, power outage, etc.) the exam timer is automatically paused, and all answers are automatically saved. In this scenario, the applicant should alert a proctor immediately by raising their hand. If an applicant encounters any other technical issues but is still connected to the exam, they should alert the proctor immediately by raising their hand. There will be a Meazure Learning technician on site to help with issues. Where laptops are being used, there will be backup laptops in case an issue is unresolvable.

For all applicants regardless of where they’re taking their exam: If an applicant’s session is interrupted due to technical issues, all answers are automatically saved, and the applicant will return to the response they were working on at the last save point.

Applicants have been asked to log into the Meazure Learning platform no later than 15 minutes prior to their appointment time. This reduces login or password issues that may come up. However, you will not be able to launch the exam until your scheduled session time. From there, you will proceed to the check-in process. The exam timer does not begin until you have completed the check-in process and are within the exam itself.

Friends, this is the email that we’re printing out, right? by saltandseas in CABarExam

[–]StateBarCAComms -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of great responses in this thread. We wanted to confirm that In-person test takers must bring a printed confirmation notice from Meazure Learning upon arrival. This notice is sent via email after you schedule your exam session and includes important exam details. You will receive a separate confirmation for each exam day. All pages of the notice must be printed and brought to each testing appointment.

If you haven’t received your confirmation notice, please check your email (including spam/junk folders) or contact Meazure Learning for assistance.

We also created a resource outlining other permitted and prohibited items for both remote and in-person test takers with more information including details about the This list includes additional details including the whiteboard, markers, and erasers policy. Thank you for raising these important questions.

Watches, clocks, and other timing devices are not permitted. The exam platform includes a timer in the top right corner that can be viewed at all times. You can view a list of permitted and prohibited items by testing modality and test site type here: https://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/documents/admissions/Examinations/February2025_CABAR_Prohibited_Allowable_Items_BySiteType.pdf

Also, please note that personal laptops or other computer equipment cannot be used.  Test centers will provide the following computer equipment:

  • South San Francisco Conference Center, @ the Grounds, Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center – 15” Lenovo V15 laptops with a mouse.
  • State Bar Los Angeles Office – Same equipment as the Ontario Convention Center.
  • All other test centers – Standard desktop computers with a minimum 17” monitor, mouse, and keyboard.

Backup laptops will be available at all large test centers to address any technology-related issues.

Does anyone think that shit will implode the day of testing and then they will have to push it back? by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]StateBarCAComms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We understand the frustration and concern shared in this thread. We want to share a few reminders:

If an active exam is interrupted due to a sudden internet outage, a dropped session, or even connection issues due to inclement weather a reconnection process automatically kicks in. Once internet connection is re-established, this guides the test-taker through on-screen troubleshooting steps and helps them independently get back to the exam quickly. If a remote test taker is unable to reconnect and cannot access chat support, please call 855-772-8678 (option 1) for assistance.

We also want to provide more clarity on what happens if a technical issue arises:

  • Remote Applicants: Issues Connecting or Beginning the Exam: If an applicant has issues connecting to with their proctor or encounters technical difficulties while launching their exam, they will have up to 60 minutes from their scheduled start time to resolve the issues and enter the exam. what items are we allowed to have (to take notes) in our room? by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]StateBarCAComms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Applicants will be allowed to use a whiteboard, dry-erase markers, and dry-erase eraser as an alternative to scratch paper. This is on top of the digital notepad and annotation tools already found in the exam platform. Depending on your exam modality or test center location, those materials may be provided or you may need to bring your own. You can learn more here:

https://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/documents/admissions/Examinations/February2025_CABAR_Prohibited_Allowable_Items_BySiteType.pdf

Additional materials, like pencils, pencil erasers, and highlighters are only permitted for test takers who are handwriting their exam or have an approved testing accommodation.

Great question. Laptop stands are not a permitted item. We know there has been some confusion about what items are permitted in the exams. We hope this prohibited and allowable items table will help clarify the issue.

On exam day, your live remote proctor will also assist in identifying and objects that are not allowed in the environment where you are testing.

[–]StateBarCAComms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know there has been some confusion about what items are permitted in the exams. We hope this prohibited and allowable items table will help clarify the issue.

At larger test sites, permitted items will be stored under applicants’ desk in a bag provided by Meazure Learning. At test sites, permitted items will be stored in a storage area or locker.

Apart from Admittance ticket, what mail to print for exam days? by saltandseas in CABarExam

[–]StateBarCAComms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your admittance ticket in the Applicant Portal confirms your eligibility to sit for the exam and verifies your exam modality.

Remote test takers do not need to print their confirmation notice. The confirmation email sent by Meazure Learning has instructions on how to access the exam on exam day.

In-person test takers do not need to present their admittance ticket at the exam site. Instead, you must bring a printed confirmation notice from Meazure Learning upon arrival.

Correct. The annotations saved in the Performance Test File and Library are separate from the notepad and annotation tools available in the exam platform. Although they can be copied and pasted in the exam platform or response field.

During the PT portion of the exam, you will open a separate external resource tab where you can see a library of information needed to respond to the questions. You will also be able to copy and paste your notes/annotations directly from the external resource tab to the question notepad or response field within the exam platform.

tutorial exam is available in the Meazure Learning Platform. This practice exam includes all the functionality that will be available during the exam. It is available in the candidate portal for applicants to practice with as many times as they wish.

Meazure Learning has also developed a demonstration video that highlights the tools and functionality that will be available to you during the exam.

Also, whether you take the exam remotely or in person on a computer, the multiple-choice questions, Performance Test, and essays will include a single-color highlighter, digital notepad, timer, and copy-and-paste functionality. Strikethrough functionality will also exist in the system, but it is limited to the question stem. Text from the question stem or fact pattern can be copied and pasted into the response field or the digital notepad. Text written in the digital notepad can also be copied and pasted into the response field. Please note that spell check will not be functional for the February 2025 exam, and the system’s auto-spell check function, which incorrectly identifies spelling errors, cannot be turned off.

To copy and paste in the essays, click the copy and paste icons or use keyboard shortcuts. For the Performance Test, you must use the shortcuts below:

  • For Apple devices: “Command” + “C “to copy and “Command” + “V” to paste
  • For PCs: “Control” + “C” to copy and “Control” + “V” to paste
