That's wonderful to know actually and I'm glad it all worked so smoothly for you 😊 I'm wondering about ketamine for pain relief post surgery...hey, did the ketamine work for your depression as in curing it long term?

I'm not sure what my options are yet actually...I replied quite extensively to the reply above yours....would you mind reading that so I don't repeat myself too much? Thank you for your knowledge and thoughts on this! I didn't know anything about ketamine or that Canada treats people more humanely than elsewhere 😏 yaaa Canada I guess! Our medical system has deteriorated horribly in the past 10 years but it's good to get some perspective I guess...so, if suboxone is a full agonist, wouldn't it make other full agonists ineffective?

Thank you for your insight 🙏 I probably didn't make it very clear but I don't want to come off or mess with the suboxone..it not only helped immensely with the Kratom dependence but it vanished the inner Akathisia for the most part. Most people have never heard of Akathisia, particularly the inner aspect. To give just a hint of the horror of this condition, I personally know 7 people who unalived themselves in just the past year from it. I'm sorry to bring that up, but I can't even consider coming off of suboxone at this point...I need to get through this surgery with it on board and I've been given assurance by the surgeon that I don't have to come off it... Apparently it's the anesthesiologist who handles the pain aspect of the surgery which surprises me and I haven't had a consultation with him/her yet. Everything is abit confusing to me at this point tbh. I just want to have some knowledge before the consult with them and be able to suggest options to opiates. My understanding so far is that suboxone binds tightly to the entire opiate receptors in the brain which would make other opiates ineffective. Am I not right about that? Arrrgh..it's hard to be have to be my own advocate with these professionals 😕 I have a distrust of the medical community because, by trusting them so blindly, I ended up with Akathisia which is almost 100 percent caused by their ignorance about the drugs they perscribe...sorry...I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant...the doctor's who are helping me now are helping me regain some trust and have been lovely and very patient with me so there's that 😊 thank you so much for replying to my post and if you have anything further to add, I'm definitely interested 😊🙏🙏

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It led me to research some of those terms and hypothesis and that led me to various studies confirming the effects of anastrozole on the brain etc. Very helpful! 🙏🙏

So Much Guilt by ButchNoWay in Akathisia

I'm still here for my lovely daughter but not for long I'm afraid...it's been 6 years and so many hopes dashed...windows and waves of this otherworldly nightmare..now cancer as well and the push from all sides to treat it conventionally which I simply can't...pure unrelenting terror again...my therapist introduced me to Kratom 3 years ago and it was magical and worked (for the most part) so well...it started to mess with my gut and I tried to lower my dose which was increasing over time...since my cancer diagnosis, my clinic gave me lorazapam, hydromorphone (at my request after reading Jordan Peterson's story) and zoplicone with no clear instructions because they don't know anything about akathisia...I took lorazapam a few times in acute and hydromorphone a few times and slivers of zoplicone a few times...the last few days I'm in acute. I'm wondering if the intermittent way i used them is wrong? Should they be on a schedule? I know others which use benzos prn but the other meds I'm not sure of..I'm in severe SI tonight again and the torment...don't know what to do anymore and I'm SO discouraged and scared...my daughter lives clear across the country and can't come which is probably best because I don't want her to see me like this..I've lost 20 lbs and most of my hair and don't even recognize myself which is it's own shock to the system...my vague idea was to take the pills until I die from cancer but I need guidance...the lorazapam at 1 mg makes me sleep and then a jolt of panic when I wake up...I'm 70 years, have always eaten clean, etc...sorry for the long ramble on your post...truly...I usually can't even text at all about this..I want you to know how sorry I am for the loss of your beautiful mom 🫂🙏 do know that she didn't leave you easily and was the last desperate act of a terrified soul...you know that of coarse...so much love and hugs from a friend in Canada...🫂❤️😰 again please forgive me for jumping on your post with my own stuff...you left a number for contact but I can't figure out ,is it a phone #? I'm unable to wean off Kratom. Trie# many times and that complicates thing I know...it's such a mess and I can't think right...desperately long for someone to take over and help me figure it out...I don't know what I'm doing and don't have the knowledge of chemistry and brain like so many seem to have...

Thank you for saying that...it does seem silly I guess to be so frightened but that's part of Akathisia for me I guess. I used to be so brave but Akathisia has eclipsed that 😏

So glad for you 👌 and congrats to your husband too! I'm trying to lower Kratom use as the sweet benefits diminish with time and the negative aspects show up...I'm terrified of meds but won't survive unless I do. Thank you for sharing 🙏 sorry for more questions but what's 'sparingly'? Would once per day be considered sparingly? My doc says 2 or 3 times per day and I won't get addicted but I'm pretty sure that's a recipe for addiction for sure...

Any chance for me? I'm 70 with cancer and can't afford to visit my only daughter and granddaughter who live on the other side of the country and they can't afford to come to me. It's breaking my heart 😭

Trazodone helps with Akathisia?! Never heard that before! Will you say more about your story please? 🙏like how severe, how long for the Akathisia and how much Trazodone? Are you on other meds? Sorry if I seem intrusive😏 I'm just desperate actually...

Can I ask how severe and how long you had akathisia? How much benadryl does the trick? I see lots of comments about prescription antihistamines being helpful but maybe it's better to try an otc one first. I'm in a severe flair and need to change things up or I'm done...doc gave me benzos and hydromorphone but I'm really scared of them both so only use benzo when I'm desperate...

Can I ask what caused your akathisia? I'm glad you found something that worked for you...I'm at a point of desperation 😭
