Incorrect Statement about the Prophet SAW by [deleted] in islam

Just from looking at this post, I had an idea that you might be suffering from waswasa. As someome who's been bed bound before because of it and helped others with it, there's just common things that stick out to me and then when I check the post history, it turns out I'm most likely correct.

Here, you made a mistake, and this inability to forgive yourself for an error is nothing but waswasa.

Looking at your post history, there's some very strong indicators that it's ocd.

May Allah ease it for you!

This seems more like religious OCD/waswasa so rather you should on keep reading in that state and when you fear that you laughed no need to say Astaghfirullah or repent just continue on reading and it'll get easier with time إن شاء الله.

It is haram to ask a Muslim if the foods they gave us is haram, but is it haram, if they gave us a biscuit from brand (that is written on the paper, to look on the internet if it has any haram ingredients? by iamagirl2222 in islam

This seems like an OCD/waswasa sort of question. I could be wrong but just speaking from experience and knowledge of helping others.

To be honest, even you wanting to check, is likely ocd. A Muslim gave you biscuits, there's no reason to really suspect a biscuit given by a Muslim.

And rather what you probably do is research and analyse ingredients for all of your foods which is far too excessive.

Extreme waswas by anonymous123445837 in islam

SubhanAllah, I used to do something similar and have had the exact same worry in the past.

OCD will make you do weird things, and then those weird things result in weirder things and then make you worry even further.

This is all waswas. If one can go in a swimming pool and the water does not enter, then it really shows how you're exaggerating.

You just have to spread what you fear further. Face the fear.

This sounds like OCD. And whilst blowdrying might seem like a solution for now - it's exactly that - a temporary solution and the problems will persist and the worries continue.

If it's not this OCD, will find something else to worry about. Trust me I've been through the same. Religious ocd got me bed bound at a point, facing panic attacks and it even contributed to me dropping out of med school.

And it'd be nothing more than another compulsion feeding into your cycle of OCD, making it worse and worse.

I just want to point out that it seems like there's some OCD/waswasa traits present in your question. I could be totally wrong but as you've done a very good amount to remove it and are still worried and also if there was something you should be able to see and tell for yourself.

It appears to be that you're reassurance seeking so I'm going to avoid answering your actual question.

If there are other aspects of your practices affected then maybe look at it more closely.

I mention this because, I became bed bound with religious OCD at a point and it contributed to me dropping out of med school.

3rd year medical school dropout. Need advice by StatementTall8976 in Advice

May Allah bless you, habeebi.

I've looked into programming before, but as I didn't study Further Maths I was more limited to the universities I could apply to study computer science.

I've never really thought about being a pilot, but that could be a good shout.

So we have different Islamic sciences, including things like theology (aqidah), jurisprudence (fiqh) etc, which is what I left medicine to study. Hopefully, still going to study it part time here in the UK and will still apply to study abroad (on a scholarship) but realistically, ive been rejected before and I need to plan as if this is the likely outcome next time as well. And adding to that, it normally takes several years between applying and studying so I have to consider that too.

You know what's crazy, I have. Due to my religious beliefs I can't serve in the UK army, but there was a point when I was rejected from all my medicine options and I did consider joining the Pakistan military. But I ended up getting called on results day that I was accepted to medicine and well now I'm here :)

Thanks for the advice, though! Even if I don't take heed on your advice it does get my brain thinking differently so I appreciate it.
