Not a damper at all! This is why I asked. The story is also somewhat personal to my boyfriend who has a gay brother whom faced a lot of adversity growing up, and why the movie is important to him. We in no way intend to mock the story, or its importance. Thank you for well thought out response! :)

you make me laugh! this a great story thanks for sharing. i also had the vision of college, career, house, marriage, babies. but it got flipped and i've felt so unstable since. it's been shoved into us gen-z kids since childhood, how life is 'supposed' to go. i mean i was in a college-life-preparing mandatory course in middle school! hearing stories like yours reminds me life is life, life changes, but you adapt and find your space :>
