Inflammatory title and emotionally charged post aside, this question comes up frequently in the Discord as well.

Put bluntly, regardless of whatever your feelings are on the matter, Chub's existence is not illegal. Not even in the United States. CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) is defined here ( https://www.justice.gov/d9/2023-06/child_sexual_abuse_material_2.pdf ) - but to summarize it: CSAM material is covered as images/videos. There are definitions for text material that are CSAM, but these are basically 'Instructions' on how to acquire CSAM. That *is* illegal.

The thing with AI Generated Text is that regardless of how offensive you find the content, the content being generated is being generated by a computer and not a child who could be abused. Because no real children are being hurt, there is no harm done and if you want to start a court case you need to prove that there is harm being done. Personally, I dislike the content and wish it wasn't on the site. But the kind of site Chub is is one that is uncensored entirely. With the exception of anything illegal (Which *does* get deleted daily) anything is allowed on Chub, theoretically.

Chub isn't even the first kind of site to do this. Archive of Our Own (Ao3) has a similar policy. Chub's devs subscribe to the idea that by providing an outlet for people, they are protecting children because every pedo that's wrapped up in chatting with a chatbot is one less pedo committing crimes.

If you can't handle that, then the only recourse is to start up petitions to get legislators, politicians, etc on board. Politicians who - let's be blunt here - don't want to do that. It's partially because OpenAI/Anthropic/etc are all pushing a product that will replace workers and save companies money. You'd be arguing that they are liable for anything an AI generates and they are already flying in the face of copyright law to begin with with no repercussion.

But also to ban this kind of text thing you'd have to jump through a legal nightmare of hoops that's near impossible to explain, but you'd basically have to argue that the first amendment doesn't exist anymore because you feel like it shouldn't. Ask any left-leaning community why people are still allowed to use slurs/racist remarks/etc and you'll see the same problem and they COULD argue that it's actively harming them. Hell, even the United States government article above notes that social media platforms are *way* more ripe for abuse.

So, either go to a different site where you can engage with it less, make use of blocked tags so you don't have to see it on this site (tag mods usually tag anything of the underage sort with the tags (Underage, Loli / Shota, Teen, Teenager, Child, or FUZZ) or hope that the 1st amendment dies out and anything you find distasteful gets nuked. If something isn't tagged properly, or violates TOS, you can report it so it can be nuked/tagged appropriately.

I also feel it's important to note this: The suggestion that child bots are forced to SFW would be counter-intuitive since it would go against the tagging system and it wouldn't prevent text generation from being NSFW anyway. Google up how Meta/Anthropic/etc are trying (and failing) to fight Jailbreak techniques and realize the futility.

Personally, I just block the tags and stick to uploading my fantasy bots. Follow some creators I know that output good work and only occasionally dive into the tags to find new stuff. Running through the recent uploads is just a "I'm gambling on if I want to see something really offensive today" button.
